Friday Favorites | Books that define me✨

Friday Favorites | Books that define me✨

Good morning!

It had been a while since we’ve done some Memes on here, and YES I’ve found yet another one 😂 ; Friday Favorites, Thanks to Dani’s post!

I know we are rather late on this one because erm, it’s not friday for one .. and for two “Books that define me” was August 9th’s prompt.. but better late than never, eh? And we all know i’m almost always behind anyway xD so let’s do this!

First, I just wanna mention that it’s not anything I had really thought about before reading Dani’s post; she inspired me to do my own post aswell! I think it’s interesting to see what book in speciality and what about it have others define themselves with! So just a little note that I will probably had forgot some 😅

Without more blabbing; what are the books I feel that define me?

Eliza & her Monsters, Francesca Zappia

I felt so much seen in this book for the anxiety rep. Like myself in the beginning (and sometimes still today), Eliza has blurts of irritablitiy caused by her anxiety towards her parents that only try to help her. While I can see why many readers could see only a ungrateful child in her behavior, I can see my own actions in that one .. Sometimes anxiety can overwhelm you so much that you lose control and appear a little too rude.

Also the way she feel different online VS at school; although writting comics isn’t my thing and I didn’t wrote my blog under an alias (neither am I as popular as Lady Constellation), I feel the same way about my blog. I can show my true self without any fear, and I do love all the other bloggers I converse with in the comments/regularly in the blogging discords!

Cockleberry Bay Serie (The Cornershop in Cockleberry Bay & Meet me in Cockleberry Bay), Nicola May

Of course the relationship between Rosa & Hot has to be on there! I didn’t rescued my two like Rosa did with Hot, but the same strong family bond remains. I would personally throw myself off a cliff and enter a flaming building to save my weeins, hands down.

I specifically adored that Rosa’s mother went to save Hot’s life and her explanation to doing so was because Hot was as much of family as Titch’s baby was – even if he wasn’t human. And how she did it for Rosa as she knew how lost she would be without him. That is so very accurate, although I know they’ll have to leave me at some point, I just can’t imagine a day with me being without my own dachshunds beside me.

Which of your favorite books would you say define you ? why?

  1. Loved seeing what books represented you <3 and I suppose for me I think that though I love a lot of books I'm not sure what defines me, maybe Harry Potter because I bleed Hogwarts house colors lol

  2. Lovely post!
I would say a book define me totally more like I found a bit of myself in them, 2 books which I had read that there is a little part of me are FAKE IT TILL YOU BREAK IT and LOVE FROM A TO Z

    1. Thank you!
I haven’t read either of thoses yet, Love from A to Z is absolutely on my wanna read though!

  3. Loved this post, Kristina. Eliza and Her Monsters is on my TBR for so long. I don’t know why I keep putting it off to read. I am so glad that you were able to relate to that book so much. I will definitely check the second book.

    1. I hope you get to read Eliza soon! It was definately worth the hype for me, I love it so much ❤️❤️

  4. Aww, this is such a great post, love!! I adore Eliza and Her Monsters, and it makes me so happy to see that it was a wonderfully relatable book for you! Whenever we’re able to see ourselves in books, it’s the best! <3

    1. It is ❤️ especially with such things as mental health or sexuality. I can’t imagine how awesome it should be for people who can see themselves with their cultures and such!
