2023 Reading goals & 2022’s final results

Good morning!

Hope we’re all doing well, it is time to settle the new goals for this brand new year! but first, I wanted to share the final results of my 2022’s. Let’s look at what I accomplished in the last 2 months of 2022 together, as I had shared the results once I had accomplished my goal 30 books read back in September.

I’ll be sharing some of my stats from my Storygraph account, so please go friend me there if you aren’t already xx

2022’s Reading goals;
As i’m writing this, we are the 31st, and i’m trying real hard to finish “The Woods are always watching”, so hopefully we can add one more book to the tallies later!

♣ Storygraph (formely Goodread) goal – 30 books read in the year ☑️
Succeeded in September; not quite went into my next step of 40 books, but close!!

♣ #BeatTheBacklist – half of my books read (15 books) ☑️
29 out of 38 had been published before 2022; which is much over the 15 I had planned, and still over half of what I’ve read!

♣ #AudiobookChallenge – Level 1 again (more than 2 of last year) ☑️
I slightly accomplished that one with 3 audiobooks listened; The last of August, It sounded better in my head & Kind of a big deal.

♣ Equal reads in French & English ✖️
Not quite.. As I fairly pointed out, I had been quite a hard time finding French books that I had been interrested in- BUT it’s still fairly close – so still a win in my book.

♣ Read more in my “unusual genres” (Poetry, Graphic Novels, Non-Fictions, Erotica,..) ☑️
Highly passed that goal! I dipped in so many grey reading areas this year, more of some I had only read a few before, and completely new ones.

Lots of Horrors (thank to that French Serie I got swallowed in), True Crime, few Poetry, one Erotica, Magical realism showing me I can read slight fantasy elements, and a Graphic novel.

And here’s one more stat, because it kinda looks cool how they’re basically fairly all similar sizes.. no real big gap between them except for sad & informative. Then again, I’m never sure what mood the books are tied to, so it’s one more facinating for me to see.

2023’s Reading Goals;
Finally, here’s what I plan for 2023. As of now, I wanted to keep it simple – I might add more later if I find fit? — but as I’ve been feeling quite the pull to rediscover some earlier books read, or even reread the whole French horror serie again to decifer the little knacks I didn’t got the first time, and yet not really feeling like I can because of all those unread books I had.

♣ 40 books read in the year
♣ Read more unusual genres for me
♣ Reread atleast 2 books

Have you accomplished your goals for 2022?
What are the ones you set for 2023?
