My autumn favorites π
Good morning,
Autumn is officially started as September finally rolled around, and i’m fully embracing the spook this year! Thus, I want to share my season’s favorites with y’all today xx
Note that I prefer using Autumn more than Fall, as it’s closer to our french counterpart and idk- it just sounds better to me!Β
β The weather
First thing’s first, Autumn tend to have the perfect weather of not-too-cold but not-too-hot, where you’re comfy but alright with just a jacket on versus the whole snowsuit shebang; Opposite of Spring were we can still see some snowstorms happening until mid-June and it’s more on the colder side rather than the warmer.
I praise the feeling of being comfortable, while still being able to use blankets, cardigans and jackets.. as I’m always the too cold one in winter & my body can’t stand the heat very well .. as my medication makes me more prone to heat fatigue/heat strokes.
β The smells
Autumn is linked in my brain to cosy things, aswell as the use of candles (though again something that I don’t really do myself) as my mother generally don’t burn them in the summer.
Right now I am burning one locally made my bestfriend gave me, smelling likeΒ “Caramel LattΓ©”, but my absolute favorite is the smell of my godmother’s house:Β “Apples & Cranberries or cinnamon”.
β The Aesthetics
Though Ironically everything is dying and we start to get less vitamin D, so we tend to slip more into depression.. I just LOVE everything using the warmer palette: from the falling leaves to the halloween decorations. It feels so cosy and the sights of all the colours and Halloween decorations makes me so happy; Even if they’re just plain bats, cats & pumpkins!!
I do need to buy more season’s decoration myself; the bonus that there’s a whole lot of dachshund themes items desguised as a hotdog or “Halloweenies”Β – combining two of my passions π
β The spooks!! π»
Autumn & horror just goes hands in hands. While it’s true that I started dipping more into that genre quite later in my lifeΒ (My story here),Β I’m an absolute fan now!! The only area where I can say i’m lacking is horror books, as it haven’t been a genre that I really explored before. I also am too nervous to actually play horror games myself, BUT I love to see people let’s play it on youtube, and ofcourse horror movies !!
My favorite type of horror is the paranormal, specially the one dealing with ghosts & demons, aswell as psychologicals. While gore & violence doesn’t bother me too too much, It’s not the top of my list, although I’ve kinda liked the Saw franchise. On the opposite, I have no interest whatsoever in zombies.
β The tastes
Apples & pumpkins are a produce of the fall; so ofcourse any pasteries including those two aswell as cinnamon are a big yes for me! Including the famous pumpkin spice lattΓ©s, I’m the type to pumpkin everything! Generally, we go buy a load of pumpkin every year to cut them to pieces and freeze them to have them as treats for the weeins, saving only the pumpkin seeds to ourselves — broken record here that I definately need to bake more, especially pumpkin pies!
For my absolute favorite dish, it has to be apples cooked in brown sugar & cinnamon. Something that is so simple, but that I start craving as soon as the fresh air starts rolling around.
Which season is your favorite, and what do you prefer from it?
I also love the autumn aesthetic and all the spooky content, be it in the form of books or TV shows π» Apples and pumpkins are also what I associate with fall π₯°
Happy to hear you do too π₯° also the warmer colourful color palette is ππΌππΌ
