Book with multiples stories.. yay or nay?

Book with multiples stories.. yay or nay?

Good morning, guys!

At first I didn’t knew what to write for today.. and then a question struck me. You know those books with multiple novels inside of them, like say Agatha Christie’s combo book with 2-3 stories inside, or Ali Hazelwood’s compilation “loathe to love you” – How do you guys read them??

Admitedly I had two like that on my shelves, one from Agatha Christie and another one in the same vein of thriller novels.. and I ended up chucking them, unhauling them. My main issues is how does one read them?! 🤨

Say, I like to devide my books between Read/Unread – Do you just read one story at the time & place it back on the unread shelf, or do you read them all in one go?! And then do you count it as one book read or three.. yes it’s one book, but if there’s 3 stories inside.. and if the combo book isn’t on GR or SG?

I only ever had a book like that in my childhood, a BIG story book that i’ve had been given by my godmother – with like The princess & the pea, hansel & gretel and other stories of the like. Growing up I would just take the book and tell whoever would be reading to me which story I wanted and that was that, it was before that I start making unecessary rules for myself, ahah 😅 everything was just so simple as a child, eh?

As a mood reader, I can’t guarantee that i’d binge the whole mix of stories in one go, and reading one story of it to place back on my unread shelf isn’t appealing much to me either.. Unless maybe as a collectionnist, having read the stories separately elsewhere but only buying the combo books would work?

How do you guys deal with those types of book?
