Comparing my 2022 & 2023 reading stats

Good morning!

Time to see how & if my reading stats improved in 2023 from my data gathered in 2022; thanks to Storygraph for their amazing graphs generated 🥰 I find some of them to be so interresting.

As a general rule, the 2022 graphs will be on the left/upper picture, and the 2023 ones will then be on the right/down picture.

 

Total books read;

Wow, didn’t expect that one.. Although my goals were different, 30 & 40 respectively, I ended up reading almost the same amount, by only ONE book difference 🤣 To be fair though I could’ve had reached more but I ended up in Zelda Obsession for 2-3months- gonna be trying again for 40 this year!

 

Page number of books;

Hilariously I kept in the same brackets, I don’t do bigger books than 500 pages 😅 However I seemed to pick up smaller books in 2023 ! Which made sense as I read more poetry, graphic novels, etc.

 

fiction / nonfictions;

As i’ve been saying alot, I’ve definately branched out more to nonfiction; a whole 10% more it seems!

 

Genres read;

Look at this improvement!! Went from 14 to 19 different genres, I sure did passed this goal of mine to expend and read more unusual genres.

 

Languages;

This is the only part where I went down, it seems.. I’ve read a tad less French than I did the year prior – but I’ve also had so much trouble finding interresting ones!! French books just.. doesn’t have the same feels to them, just reading the synopsis most of the time I just go “bleh”.

 

Star rating;

So unfortunately, this was expected. Broadening to new genres often means lesser 5 stars as you’re dabbing around something you don’t know if you’ll like for sure.. As long as it’s above 3 stars, that’s a good read if you ask me, so that’s not all too bad.
