Synopsises that doesn’t give the book justice?

Good morning!

As I mentionned in Last week’s post about unattractive book covers I had also had it happen where, for whatever reason, reading the synopsis left me kinda “eh” about picking said book.. Only to pick it up and find out it was so much better than I originally thought!

I had this happened in my recet reads, Out of Character had been one of them- I didn’t knew what book I was in the mood for and the synopsis didn’t really felt it for me.. however I decided to pick it anyway because it was on my list of books I wanted to read this year 😅 and it did ended up being so much better that I originally thought, a favorite for sure!!

Most of them still remains on my unreads though, i’m thinking Loveless or from my own TBR, The last goodbye, Well met, Love in Lockdown & No judgement. I gotta say i’m not sure if I should pick them up anyway & try like I did with OoC, or if I should just unhaul them at this point..

I had once heard great things about those books, but right now they just don’t spark it; i’m not sure if it’s just my mood changing or what.. I can’t exactly pinpoint what it is that is driving away- the things mentionned just don’t seems interresting.

Did that ever happened to you, with what books?
Have you read mines, did you enjoy them?

  1. For me, the worst kinda synopsis that makes me uninterested is when it doesn’t explain what the plot is about. Like, “A story about love and mystery and finding hope in the world!” Ok but what is the plot actually about?? That could describe anything, what is the story?? But yeah I definitely think there are books out there whose synopsis doesn’t do them justice and then people miss out on a great book.

  2. Confession: most of the time I don’t even read the synopsis!!! I just trust my friends recommendations LOL
