This is technically book 2 in the serie; Six brothers footballer & a sister, all girls having a different animal. We can clearly see why I got attracted to this one! 🤭 Only one brother has a girlfriend in this novel (with her rooster), so Declan & Kelsey (with her dachshund) should appear in the other ones aswell!

The first thing, I knew it was gonna be a favorite with how Kelsey’s dachshund was introduced! I squealed reading for a good couple of pages while on my break. “A sparkly blue blob was barking like a stuffed animal came to life”, and she got saved by the male MC from a rattle snake… by throwing his shirt at it xD Cherry on top, the name; Wiener the Pooh! 😭🤭 she stayed consistant within the story, just like I like them. And the way Declan keep holding her like a football.. 🥹
Second point, the author slipped a note in the front of the novel as a chubby woman all woman in her books are chubby, and all have their happily ever after ! She also note that no animals will be killed in her stories -which, thank you I like that-
As she’s also working on her self-love, there is some grossophobia in the background, like with some of her trolls online, but I feel like that’s quite close to real life! The male MC keep being head over heels over her curves and how amazing a person she is as well as a signer without being too overboard in my opinion.
I wouldn’t technically say there’s a misscommunication trope.. but since we start the novel having Kelsey’s manager asking Declan’s manager for a showmance after he saved Pooh, she’s convinced for most of the novel that this is just for fake- when he keep telling her he’s for real and don’t keep secrets. We know from his POV that he declined the offer, but his manager just never got to her manager about it.. as of which I would’ve taken that as a no personally? Once she let go and accept to fall into love with him, their couple are quite dreamy; he’s protective of her without being too controlling, assuring himself that she make pauses in her schedule to rest up too.
The family dynamic was so cute! while being a huge family, they were all protecting each other and it was nice seeing them interact; aswell as the one brother’s wife, which helped trying to get Kelsey to leave under the radar.
