Have you been feeling this mercury retrograde? I feel like I haven’t, but then it’s true i’m having some trouble with Sheik lately that i’ll go in more deeply in the post! Let’s see what’s been happening lately.
My last personal update had been when I spoke upon my vacation & reading slump.
First week at my new work done!
When this publish i’ll be starting my second week at my new job; things are really doing great! I have an odd memory, which is perfect because it is quite useful for me in this role; as I tend to remember a lot of what people tells me, opposed to other things. Settling into a daytime work instead of evenings is doing okay, I just need to crash out and close my eyes a few after I come home.. but that’s relatively normal. My workday goes by pretty quickly, I love most of it and there’s plenty of stuff to do!
Since I don’t come off with my ankles and feet aching, I aim to move from dancing 2-3x a week (25mins) to 3-4x a week (30mins). I’m also eating less sugar as I obviously don’t have anything to eat other than my lunch.. when the Café had a lot of tempting sweets! Same with caffeine, I won’t be drinking energy drinks anymore and buy my own chai to make at home.
Bonus of not having to dress in a uniform, I kept my pants as I don’t wear jeans anymore and they’re more of the dressy type; I got to buy some fancier tops to wear — most of them are still black, but mainly with patterns & floral ✨ I can also wear a lot more of my wardrobe.
Sheik’s issues
We’ve been dealing with her lungs mucus problems since last august after the fires. 3 weeks prior to our vacation she got diagnosed with pneumonia and had been given 2 antibiotics, an anti-inflammatory & an anti-nauseous. Before vacay we went to her follow-up, which she prescribed her a different antibiotics as it can take such a long time for it to drain and she feared we’d go back to square 1.
While we were away, she wasn’t eating. At first I put the fault on her food, thinking she just didn’t like it- as she ate her freezed dried nugget, the treats.. so when we came back I bought a different one. Last monday we brought her back as she wasn’t eating still, and I had the day off. Quite a costy one, as we took another Xray of her lungs, sent it to a radiologist to verify along with the one from the month prior, aswell as a blood test to check her pannels & white cells count. Everything came back okay with showing decreased of mucus.. so the vet gave us something for her upset stomach & more anti-nauseous.
It worked for a few days, we’d been feeding her wet food as that’s what she wanted- fed is best. she still seems to have problems with her mucus that sometimes is “allowed” to be spitted out, but not always.. and she went back to not eating. This time refusing both the dry AND her wet.. still taking her brother’s. I just don’t know what to do with her anymore 🤦🏽♀️ Small win she’s no longer lethargic or hot to the touch, and she do drinks alot. I find giving her the leftover of the anti-inflammatory we got last time helps when she really don’t want to eat; I’ve found some “under the weather” pouch that’s basically a bland diet (chicken and rice) where you add hot water to give them- so far she’s eating that, we also got a seasoned beef “spice” to put on her food..
But man, only downside is as I came in on the week they just got their pay, I’m looking at 3 weeks before getting a paycheck- I have enough to go by but I can’t continually bring her to the vet either 😅
