Geekerella ~ Ashley Poston ☆ Audiobook Review

Good Morning!

Finally I’ve read this book, that i’ve seen pretty much everywhere and has been on my want to read for such a while already – while not being too too sure if I wanted to read it as it was my first retelling.. and I’m not much a fairytale/disney movie person.

but OMG why haven’t I read it sooner ??! It was my first audiobook too, which was such a good decision as it was amazing with their voices, but I absolutely need a paper copy of it on my shelves now.

First thing I gotta say, I’m SO happy that there is indeed a dachshund in this story; and not just a pretty thing on the cover. Although I would’ve hoped little Franco would be more important in this story.. but i’d take it!

The narrator’s for this audiobook were perfect; I loved Elle’s and Darien’s voice.

Darien was my favorite character, a perfect fanboy who’s even more dorky than he looks like — I’d date that. But more than anything else, I was swooning at the love story between them both.. This is the kind of love stories that I go MAD for !!

There’s just something with the « texted the wrong number and became friends/falled in love » trope that I so love; something that *could* technically happen, when I let myself drift off in the audiobook’s universe.. sometimes I come back to my life dreamingly thinking I have someone to text too (which- I absolutely don’t anymore 🤦🏽‍♀️🙊)

This made me feel so many emotions.. love, laughs, tears, absolute angry-ness toward the unfairness to Elle and the unnecessary meanness of the step-sisters. Near the end, I was literally bawling at the good turn of the story.. it was so beautiful and meant so much !!
