First in ~ Danika Bloom ☆ Review
Disclamer: I did received this book via the author in exchange for a genuine review
Good morning!
While I have been wanting to explore more “erotic” romances for a while, this had been a genre I haven’t explored yet.. mainly has I didn’t really know where to start and which story to pick.
Danika’s email came out of the blue, but thanks to her I can now say that I wanna read more of thoses!! Although not being too sure at first, the storyline & randoms french swears words is what attracted me at first — but I can say i’ve been pleasantly surprised!

5 / 5 stars
The book start in quite an interesting manner; in Nick’s POV, and all we know is that he is driving late to go meeting a man somewhere.. for what must be a job interview. When he cross path with an accident — and as a good firefighter, he stops to help the crew on scene, thus meeting Sophie. It’s only later that we find out who he is: the new chief of this particular sector. A job that should’ve had went to Sophie, should no “exterior people” been involved.
The way this books portrays the firefighter career and all that it involves was quite nice, I admit I didn’t knew they did all that; honestly thought it was building in fires only.. when it has been said most of their calls are actually car accidents. Having this aspect of their job being actually present in the novel gave this romance a different feel, I find.. like more real – and a bit informative.
The swearing in french absolutely killed me 😂 as expected.. but my favorite section has been when Sophie tried to translate her string of swear to Nick; not making any sense whatsoever !! I had to reread it multiple times and trying my best not to burst out laughing in the middle of the night.
And Danika sure knows how to write sex scenes !! I’ve been amazed how many thoughts and love touches it involves.. little sweet attentions that I personally never gotten, if we’re being honest. Nick, being this super hot looking muscular man, have had MANY one night stands before.. but this is different – because Sophie is different to him.
I LOVE how it is shown that it’s okay to change our minds. No arguing, no “but you started this!!”– he simply froze, stop and left for the bathroom. It was her choice to go get him back into bed.. and they manage to BOTH fall off the bed in that intense scene 😂 Showing us that it’s okay to be silly with your partner aswell!
The dual POV is always my favorite, and it worked particularly well in this scenario! When Nick think of Sophie as confident, we can see how she’s not – which says how much we don’t always portrait what we feels inside.
I’m not the best at this, but if I had to include a «Mood song» to go along this book, i’d definately pick Aftertaste (Loud Luxury Ft. Morgan St. Jean).
Now I am seeing that reveiw! Hot firefighter, sex scenes and my namesake.. what’s not to love right? LOL
Ahaha right?!
But really, I falled on the best first erotic book! Really made me wanna have MORE 😘
