Blog tour || Hallow ~ Olga gibbs ☆ Review

** Disclaimer: I did received a copy of this book from the author for review purpose. This has in no way, shape or form affected my opinion on it **

Good Morning!

Here we have a second blog tour for another amazing author whom I love so much! 11months ago now, Olga had emailed me asking if I would kindly read and review her first book in the “Celestial Creatures” serie, Heavenward. Fantasy wasn’t something I was reading at the time, but the synopsis sounded so good that I decided to take the leap; and sure enough, it ended up being one of my favorite book that year!

So obviously when she had nearly finished the second book in the serie, Hallow, she asked me if I would wanna take part of this blog tour– which I prompty accepted with pleasure!

Looking back at Heavenward;

Trigger warning; violence

As it had been so long, I went ahead and decided to reread the first book before heading over to Hallow for this blog tour. My reading in english had very much improved since, and thus some scenes had a new light to them in my head, sounding SO much better than on my original read! I remembered quite lot of it, apart of maybe a few details, but I gotta say I might or might not had read it again for Sam *aherm*

Now onto Hallow’s review;

4 / 5 stars
Trigger warning; Suicide Idealisation & attempt, gore

It started already in the action! Right off the bat with the first trigger warning, which is why I choosed to include it, as it is the ONE thing I cannot cope with – but it’s a good thing it’s not in a “feasable” way for us human or else I would’ve not been able to read it, ithink.

We get an Ariel as fierce as ever, poorly thrown into trouble after trouble; plot twist after plot twist, desperately wanting to get a grip onto this whole situation she’s been thrown into, not able to catch a break. However, true to her self, she isn’t gonna let that happen and make this change her into something she is not – essence or not. Coming stronger with her new powers and getting to know them while keeping her “teenager” attitude toward the ones who tries to help her.

Herself and Rafe has that brother/sister attitude I cannot understand what it’s like as an only child, but that we see portrayed alot. They like to give the other some rough times when also stand up for them and be there when needed. While the relation with her sister is nothing but sweetness, pure big sister “must protect my baby at all cost” and not allowing her to follow the sad path she took growing up.

The story took a turn I wasn’t expecting at all.. and left me sobbing quite a few time, alone in the darkness of my room 🙈 Even though i’m older than her, I kinda wish I’d have Ariel’s strength of mind – she really is an awesome character all over, even with her rage.
