Bobby Hall – Supermarket Review

So as this being my first post back from my short hiatus I wanted to come back in a big way. Yes, you are reading this correctly, I am doing a post on a book, not a manga but an actual novel. So this post is going to be my review on the debut novel that came out by Bobby Hall (a.k.a Logic) called Supermarket. So if you are ready then let us get into this post!

“Flynn is stuck – depressed, recently dumped, and living at his mom’s house. The supermarket was supposed to change all that. An ordinary job and a steady check, Work isn’t work when it’s saving you from yourself. But things aren’t quite as they seem in these aisles. Arriving at work one day to a crime scene, Flynn’s world collapses as the secrets of his tortured mind are revealed. And Flynn doesn’t want to go looking for answers in the supermarket. Because something there seems to be looking for him. A dark and psychological thriller, SUPERMARKET is a gripping exploration into madness and creativity. Who knew you could find sex, drugs, and murder all in aisle nine?”

So I already know that you’re probably confused that I am doing a book review and not reviewing an anime or something. This book is by Bobby Hall, also known as Logic the rapper, and if you have read my previous posts that Logic is my favorite artist and I want to support him in everything he does, including being a bestselling author (this book is already a bestseller). I do enjoy reading but it is just really hard for me to find a book I want to read and reading the description of this book (above this) had me very interested in this book, so I pre-ordered it. I enjoyed the book so much that I read the whole book in the span of 3 days and loved it, so let us talk about it!

I loved this book and had a lot of trouble putting it down. Following the life of Flynnigan E. Montgomery as he gets a new job at his local supermarket; Muldoon’s as he looks for inspiration to write and finally finish a novel for once. Little does he know that the supermarket will provide the perfect story for his novel but wants to keep it a secret from the other staff for the time being. I don’t you know how you will see it but I never saw any of the several plot twists coming and upon reading them I always had a realization moment and everything I thought I knew about the story and the characters changed.

I can easily give this book a 9/10. The only reason I don’t give it a perfect 10 was that I didn’t want the book to end when it did, I could have kept reading this book and never wanted it to end. I HIGHLY recommend that you all read this book, it’s fantastic.

Today’s question is, how likely are you to read this book after reading my review and if you have already read this book, what did you think of it?

Thank you so much for reading this post, it feels great to be back and wanted to come back in a big way and do an actual post about a book. I hope you enjoyed reading this post and don’t forget to have a great!

P.S. Bananas are good for the mind 😉 (if you have read the book then you will understand)
