Good morning!
I first saw this post over at meeghan’s @ meeghanreads; and oh my god the amount of times I would be scrolling through my libby app, searching for a book to read, to see a book and go “…waiit a minute” is uncanny 😅 So I decide to share them with you, hopes she won’t mind!
* ofcourse general reminder that i’m not hating on the covers & their creators themselves. I just thinks it’s funny that books can look the same.
- Luckiest Girl Alive VS The Other Lola; text over a singular black rose. The 2nd one being a quite recent book, I had been wondering why it looked similar… and then it hit me 😅
2. Luck & Last Resorts VS ; This background particularly- the front of a boat. It took me forever to find the other one. It really bothered me, clearly couldn’t find it.
3. The Library of Borrowed Hearts VS Booked for Murder; I was actually on Netgalley when I found those out.. literally just a stack of books, but even the colors looks almost the same! Is that just me?
4. Baby Teeth VS If He Been With me; smashed lolipops..
5. Les initiés VS Not my problem; same looking woman in same-looking pose with a red notebook 😶 Couldn’t find the english copy of the first one, but had an instant “wait a sec!”
Do you have more look alikes in mind?
I love this post! The FitzOsbornes in Exile by Michelle Cooper has the exact same cover art as Rare Objects by Kathleen Tessaro.
Oh my god that’s uncanny!! Reeusing the same cover 😅 happened to me too with an indie author i’ve read for
I know! It’s always interesting to see what kind of trends come about with cover art, but I wonder how it happens that books can have the exact same art.
Ah someone explained it.. when they literally just take the same picture from sites like unsplash & don’t modify
