Down and acrostic ✎

Hello !

Coming back for another #BESummer19 post today, this time a prompt by Isabelle @ BookwyrmBites for Friday July 12th.  (Link to her post)

→ Down and Acrostic ;
Pick a summer-themed word (ex: beach, fireworks, heatwave, barbecue, vacation) or the title of a book with summer vibes. Write it vertically, then try to fill in titles that start with each letter (you can omit determiners like “the” and “a”).

So, I have been thinking upon what word I had been wanting to use – I set my mind on “Starfish”; however, because I can, i’m gonna use the french translation of that word ! “Étoile de mer”, going for a notch harder and longer -we are reverting the é to a classic e though because.. english titles don’t have that-.

All the books that I will list is coming from my “wanting to read” shelf off goodreads.

E  Emergency Contact, Mary H.K. Choi [x]
T
Tell Me Everything, Sarash Enni [x]
O
Our Year of Maybe, Rachel Lynn Solomon [x]
I
Instructions for a Secondhand Heart, Tamsyn Murray [x]
L
Life on the Leash, Victoria Schade [x]
E
Entangled, Nikki Jefford [x]

D  Dating Disasters of Emma Nash, Chloe Seager [x]
E → Everything Grows, Aimee Herman [x]

M → Must love Wieners, Casey Griffin [x]
E → Evvie Drake Starts Over, Linda Holmes [x]
R → Rules of Attraction, Simone Elkeles [x]

Have you read any of thoses ? Do you recommend them?

  1. I love starfish, both as a word and in reality, and I love that you’ve challenged yourself to use the French translation! as you know I also used Emergency Contact in my post and I think it’s a pretty interesting read; Our Year of Maybe is also on my TBR, but I haven’t read or heard of a lot of the others you’ve included – definitely going to have to check them out. thanks for doing my prompt 💕

    1. Well not really a challenge in itself as I am a french person 😂 but you know, it’s different! (And more letters!)

Woohoo! 💕 hope some of them will look interesting for you. As soon as I knew our year of maybe had an organ transplant I knew I just HAVE to read it, ahaha

  2. Clever! I’ve not read any of those books. I love sea stars! I like to throw them back to the sea when they get stranded in our local beach by low tide.

    1. It’s been.. honestly years since i’ve seen one. Beaches are not really my thing- specially not now we gotta drive an hour to even reach it 😂

  3. I love that you did it in French, so awesome. And I feel like I need to look up a lot of these, I’m so curious about them!! Great job, and a fun post to read [Yay BE SUmmer]

  4. I have not read any of these books but I enjoyed how you took the challenge up a notch! Oh, no, wait! I’ve read Rules of Attraction!
