Good morning!
As I said in this post, somehow I tend to pick up french book series more than I would english ones.. which is slightly wierd š I donāt really understand why, ahah. But as I had been reluctant to place individual book reviews on my blog as itās mainly an english reader based, iāve decided to just do a overall serie review instead.

One of the longest that iāve read with 5 main books, the last one being devided in two and including a prelude book. My first horror serie and I absolutely LOVED it!
The storyline follows the 7th of theĀ Walker, which we learn later that their ancestor has doomed the 7th generation of their name to be the summoning body for a demon. Each winter solstice they present the demon with sacrifices. The prelude has his fatherās POV, which contains one of the worst sacrifice as being in the local church- and my personal favorite with the 3rd oneĀ āOutre Tombeā. The first four we have William having wierd encounters, seemingly always in trouble as the demon followersāĀ les damnĆ©s, are always setting him up as they see him as a traitor for his dadās actions of leaving the gang (as of which William shouldāve been the captain, being the 7th gen). Enter Marianne, another memberās daughter, that we aināt quite sure if sheās on his side or not- always popping and dissapearing throughout the story. The last tomes has the demon possessing Williamās body, as his gang of friends tried to save William from the demon.

I was unhappy to find a crude zombie cat scene without being prepared for.. and sadly the story will be wierd to reread as of so many deaths within the characters. However, I talked so much about this serie, I had been OBSESSED and frankly quite scared to read the second part of the finale.. which ended up actually good! My fear hadnāt been made true, and I cried so much for the whole duration of the serie..

Smaller serie this time; we have three books, with yet again the finale split in two tomes.
The first two we see the murder scene of youtubers by a gang of masked killers. The first one is a group doing urban exploration in an abandoned house, while the second one is a family of 3 being seeked inside their own home. The leader of the theater masked group is cold & calm, proposing the victims to play a game with him. If they win, theyāre leaving, if he wins- everybody dies. The last two tomes we see the leader, Nathan, explaining his backstory and going through the events of the first books & a novellaĀ (that I didnāt read) to a captive psychotherapist. The second part just came out last month, and it ended in a cliffhanger- so theoretically I havenāt finished this one but it isnāt published yet so..

This serie went from āokayā to āgoodā, the last two being my most favorite as I loved to see what made Nathan tick and dropping to madness. Because of their masks, they remind me a bit of the rap group Hollywood Undead.Ā

This one is a bit different, as itās more of a regroupment of tales rewritten into horror than an actual serie that follows through like the other two. Out of all the stories, Iāve just read 5 of them so far: Seven Oāclock man (or boogeyman), Krampus, Sleeping beauty, the ugly duckling and beauty & the beast.
My favorite remains the rewriting of the Canadian-taleĀ The Seven Oāclock man, mainly because he had a dachshund with him that transformed into a badass monster in his labyrinth š¤ the only one of the five books that Iāve kept. Nonetheless, the others live rent-free in my head even if I didnāt enjoyed them as much while reading them.

Those were the series that I completed so far, Iām also currently readingĀ Vous ĆŖtes cordialement invitĆ©s, but I havenāt read the second tome yet.
