Let’s talk bookish ➙ Big books VS short books?

Good morning, Everyone!

Let’s Talk Bookish is a bookish meme that was created by Rukky @ Eternity books where each Friday, bloggers write posts discussing the topic of the week! Since the beginning of April, the meme has been taken over by Aria @ Book Nook Bits; She also created the pretty new graphics!

❀ July 22: Big Books vs. Short Books: Which Do You Prefer? (Jillian @ Jillian the Bookish Butterfly)

Prompts: Do you prefer to read longer books or shorter books? Does it depend on the genre? Why is that? What are the pros and cons of long books? What about shorter books? What long books do you love? What are some of your favorite short books?

So- as we all know by now that I got concentration issues, I’m kinda scared of big books.. I’m a slow reader too, so a book tend to last me 1/2 weeks – the bigger the book, the bigger of a time it costs me 😅

But i’m also kinda on the fence for novellas too, as somehow I always go for more medium-lenght books, so I fear that it won’t have enough information or the story might be butched up .. while for big books, it might create the opposite where they’re really dragging and some scene couldve clearly been cut off and I would’ve prefer it.

However; I do love me some short chapters, so I feel like a longer book can be saved with shorter chapters. Not only does it gives me a feeling of progressing faster- but i’m also one of those who NEED to end on chapters.. and reading majorly before sleeping, as it’s always the most quiet, whenever it’s too long I just- I can’t do it.

What about you?
