Let’s talk bookish ➙ Collecting Books

Good morning, Everyone!

Let’s Talk Bookish is a bookish meme that was created by Rukky @ Eternity books where each Friday, bloggers write posts discussing the topic of the week! Since the beginning of April, the meme has been taken over by Aria @ Book Nook Bits; She also created the pretty new graphics!

❀ January 20: Collecting Books (Zahra  The Owl)

Prompts: Do you enjoy collecting books? Do you feel like physical books are overpriced? Do you buy books after you’ve read them to add to your collection? Do you buy special edition collector sets? How invested are you in your book collection?

Ofcourse I very much do enjoy collecting books! If you’re curious, I’ve posted a new Shelfie earlier this new year as I just reorganised it.. as I was missing some room for the new books I had bought, ahah!

While I am in a position where I can pretty much buy books whenever without struggling or anything, books do be expensives! Especially if we’re looking for French books- As I do tend to like to read in my native language once in a while, we need to take translation fees in considerations.

Ironically, searching online, lowest books I could find is $10,95 going up to mabe $30 – but that’s without taxes.. and who knows if the in-store price isn’t higher.

Not always, but it happened that after borrowing a book from the library I choosed to pick up a physical copy for my shelves aswell! Though nowadays I tend to go for brand new books I have seen being raved online and that I feel in the mood of 😅 So far the only one I did bought after listening to the audiobook has been Geekerella.

While I do see changed covers that have prettier versions than mine does.. it somehow isn’t in me to buy more than one copy. I believe this was another thing that my godmother transmit me that is still written of a “can’t do” in my brain or something.

Though for me the quality is better than the number- although yes more books the merrier, I do want to keep books that I really enjoyed and might wanna reread again. Those that sparks JOY ✨ Okay, and maybe a few with gorgeous covers

I’ve made it a point to unhaul any book that makes me feel “meh”, unsure, or just plain don’t like after reading them. Not only does it keeps me happy looking at my shelves, but I also gets more rooms to buy more !! 😘

What about you, do you like collecting books?
