Majora’s Theory: How they keep loving us after passing

Majora’s Theory: How they keep loving us after passing

Good morning!

As Halloween is coming up, It’s the perfect time to speak about spirits; however, we won’t be addressing anything spooky today. I’m talking loving spirits from a beloved that passed.

I’ve once chat about the basics when I first got Majora, but now that he’s growing up, he’s looking so much more like her in his behavior.. and yeah this is just my escuse to talk about my cats 😂

I had grown up with a cat & a dog; she had been taken off my dad’s friend’s farm, where her brother removed the fur off her ears to prevent her from eating, and she was full of worms. We definately saved that cat in retrospect, she had needed atleast three worms treatments. She had stayed with us for over 10yrs, as an indoor/outdoor cat, though we never knew how old she was when we got her (though she was much older than Majora’s.. we’d say around a year old).

That cat choosed me as her favorite, she even guarded me when I got sick with H1N1, keeping around me when I was awake and going to her wandering when I was sleeping. She was the absolute sweetest, come running when I called her, super cuddly and she had the odd behavior of drooling when she was happy. Unfortunately, we had to euthanise her due to mother’s medical problems, as she had a wound in her ear that kept bleeding and that was dangerous for mother’s life & her new kidney. We lost her in 2015, and 7yrs later, I was still crying remembering her..

Following a few pet pages on my facebook, i’ve crossed some theories that are comforting to me :

  • The one who passed sent you the new baby. Before they were born, they gave them instructions about you/your preferences in the “other realm” (or “in Heaven”).
  • Ressurection into the new baby to come find you again

Reading on bicolor cats, much like other patterns like the weeins’ dapples, are supposed to be all different & uniques. While it make sense in my dogs are they have the same genes being from the exact same two parents.. it’s a bit odd for Majora’s to have his coat so similar to my old girl, we are talking three small spots different.

I was away in the back when he came in, and I legit froze when I had came out and seen this kitty. I had never really seriously wanted another cat since I lost her, but instantly I just NEEDED to adopt this one. As of which, I never actually believed my dad would comply and let me take him.. as he always had been very clear he didn’t wanted another because of his allergies & asthma. Shortly, within a few days spent with him at work, the 12 weeks old kitten had choosen me. There was no denying that he was meant to be mine, he would bite my coworkers and be so lovely and calm when I was around.

Baby Majora, as I first saw him in the kennel

My elder dachshund had lived his first year with my old kitty, Grisette, while my youngest had never coexisted with a cat before. Brigning him home, I had no fear of how the three would interact – while my younger obviously was a little wary toward him, like what was this thing vibrating touching her?! – my older absolutely went for him.. thinking that he was his old friend, that’s how much he looked like her. Majora was however not too happy about that wierdo that kept licking his face.. 😂

Furthermore, I had adopted him because of his ressemblance to her from the start; although ofcourse the main difference had been that he was a male when I had a female. What were the odds that when we brought him to get neutered, they found only one minuscule testicle in his abdomen, and none in his sack… thus they basically had to give him a female cut instead of the regular neutering surgery.

Baby Kafei sleeping with Grisette, back in the days

As Majora is growing up he looks so much like her, as he’s getting about the same weight as she was, but in his behavior aswell. While Sheik adapted and is being more nice with him, Kafei remains his favorite – they even play running after each other! 🥹  Which they had also been with my old girl.

With this one, I don’t allow him outdoor as she did, but one thing she used to do was follow us from afar when we went walking with the dog. To my surprise, Majora very much wanted to come walk with us too ! After leaving him home, he cried up until the time we came back, so the next time I had to bring him along with his harness & leash too. He also comes when I call his name, and he’s constantly glued to me; not so much with anyone else, being more independant and wanting cuddles on his term. More often than not, when I wake up in the morning after leaving my door open after feeding them, he’s sleeping with me- unlike my dogs who’ll stay with mother in the living room.

What do you think, do you have a similar “happy” spirit story?
