Good morning!
Brigning you another mini reviews, with more french books; One DNF & One that I actually really liked! Lastly, I also included my last read english book to go with them, because you know that I don’t specially like having french books reviews by themselves when most people can’t read french on my platform.. 😅
Ces petits riens qui nous animent ~ Claire Norton

While I did want to like this… I just found the start to be overly dramatic. None of the characters were “fun”, and it just felt full of unecessary drama- Especially the girl that had her husband just cheated on her with the younger secretary.
On top of that, we were following the voice of 4 characters.. which is WAY too much for me, and easily mixing me up. I had picked this book quite a while ago now, maybe passed a year, and idk what I thought that was gonna be — being 3 people coming together to save a teenager about to jump a bridge, but it sure wasn’t that that I had in mind 😅
Célibataire cherche animal de compagnie ~ Marie-Krystel Gendron

She really had my dream job! Working in a foster aswell as a vetenary hospital, Amélia don’t really have time for romance.. or does she? It was overal a fun read, and the sensual parts were 🔥🔥. Slight annoyance for the male love interest being reticent to engagements at first, but still really enjoyed!
I love how they treated the subject of panic attacks & burnouts, the very need to take time away for ourselves and not overdoing our work- even if it’s our passions! Loving family, friends & coworkers that means the world ❤️
Love songs for skeptics ~ Christina Pishiris

I quite enjoy reading books starring journalists, and found it particularly interesting to see the beyond the scene of a music magazine publicist! Also quite a nice touch to have the name of the chapters being song titles, creating a playlist in the end!
Simon & Zoë started with an incredible chemistery, and admitedly I really liked Simon.. however It sorta bothered me how he behaved with Jess, sortof shielding her in a way? It’s evident the two of them went through hard times together, but being in the MC shoes, it does send mixed signals. One moment he seemed to be flirting with her, the next he’s overprotecting Jess.. slightly confusing. I also had a hard time deciding if the true love interest in this story was Simon or nick 😳 Would I not double check for happy ending, the book almost went flying to the wall at some point.
I’m unsure how to rate this… Though I don’t usually give half stars, I have to with this one. At the same time, I really felt for Zoë and everything that was happening with her- but halfway in my reading I wasn’t really in it, getting kinda bored wanting to finish it ASAP; aswell as wanting to throw the book TWICE though I don’t usually do that.I however really loved the ending & teared up.. toying between a 3.4 & a 4 Stars.
« But real love- love that inspires you to write songs or stops you from sleeping or makes you risk everything- is either there or is not. »
