Mister Magic ~ Kiersten White ☆ Book review

Mister Magic ~ Kiersten White ☆ Book review

Heey!

Time for another book review; It took me a while to pick a book, I was still so ingrained into The wretched valley- I needed something as good, and nothing felt up to the challenge.

I feel like we were taking too long to set the scene; but I loved the tone of the interviewer for the podcast, sounding as if we were still in that kid’s show and breaking the fourth wall.

When we finally reached the climax of the horror, it’s terrifying. It plays on one of my personal worst fear; not knowing if the people closest to us isn’t manipulating us for their own agenda- without us noticing, ofcourse.

We’re even adding a layer and have our MC not remembering anything of their past with them (or so they claims..). Val only have her guts telling her she knows these people, that she belongs in the space next to isaac. Even with her amnesia, she deeply remembers Mister magic’s lessons in rhymes, aswell as her sister’s face ingrained in head.

As the story progresses, we get more and more questions that nobody wants to answer. Along Val’s POV, we also get snippets of social media posts, emails, other character’s interviews for the podcast; informations unknown to the MC.

I think a tv show adaptation based on this would be really great! I wasn’t expecting it to have a good ending, and would love to see it on screen; no pun intended.

“You never forget the lesson that they would rather destroy you than let you inconvenience them”

“What if forgetting is a gift? People act like it’s a tragedy, how much we forget. I forgot, while I was there. I forgot all about how the world was like, how much it hurts”

” A promise between children who found refuge in each other’s heart turned into adults who hopes to do the same”
