My first Book Haul of the year ! 📚

Good Morning, peeps !

Although I curiously peek at other bloggers’ Book Hauls, you’d know this is not usually the type of contents that I post myself – just because my hauls tend to be only 1-2books every couple of months so I don’t think it’s enough to do a whole posts with and usually only post them on twitter..

However! This time I had gotten a total of 5 books in one day, in addition with my Netgalley acceptances, so I thought that I *did* had enough for a post this time!

Current look of my unreads shelf; After having made a dent of 3-4books in it in the pasts months.. here it is being full again

Physicals Books

Let’s start with thoses that I bought myself first, shall we ? Per our new habits since we moved, I’ve gotten a $50 giftcard for our local book store for my birthday on December 27th… so it was about time that I went and used it — ahah! 😅

As always, I’ve spent HOURS roaming around the store because although I could’ve bought books that i’ve read and know I loved, or one of the current 454 books that is on my “virtual wanna read” shelf on Goodreads… it’s just always so hard for me to pick because idk what I would feel like reading first!! I’m scared to pick the wrong one 🙈 I do always gravitate between ones that I’ve seen lots of on the blogosphere and I always points them out to my mother like “Ah, this one is quite a loved book! heard lots of good about it”, as of which she’s just like “ah yeah?” xd

So here are the three that I settled for this time! As I tend to gravitate more toward English books as none of the French ones that I have don’t quite fit my moods, I’m making it a goal to have atleast (1) of what I buys to be a French one.

Nos plus belles étincelles (translation of “All the Little Lights“)
◊ A Love Hate Thing (GR Link)
◊ Emergency Contact (GR Link)

At first, I had picked the translation of “They Both Die in the End” .. But i’m more in a “childish romance” mood lately and “Nos plus belles étincelles” fit that mood better – it had also been a book that I had picked up the last time I went too, to finally put it back down, so..

“Emergency Contact” is one that I kept picking up and put down atleast 5times in my previous trips XD So I decided to finally take it this time, as i’ve been reading many recommendations for this one, and it does fit the type of books that I like to a T — although i’ve heard some negative reviews too in the lot.

As for “A Love Hate Thing”, it’s one of the recent ones that i’ve added on my virtual wanna read per a “coming out this month” blog post from another blogger (Michelle’s Ithink). It was on a table to showcase and among other books from the same table, I had hesitated between this one, “Fix her up” and “Faker“. Yet again, A Love Hate Thing felt more fitting to my reading mood lately.

NetGalley Books

Funnily enough, I had just requested thoses two the day before; as of which I totally didn’t expected to be accepted for 😂 …and I did ended up getting both.

Love Sold Separately (NG profile, GR Link)
Very Nearly Normal (NG profile, GR Link)

    1. Yes, I hope so too! Your review is honestly one of the positives ones that made me forgot the negatives to go for it 😘
