Helloo!!
As I had gotten a new shelf in the past year, I needed some more books to put on it 😏 as I had now plenty of rooms for more! However, as a result, my unread shelf had been filled to the brim.. thus my goal of this year to read more backlisted books already on my shelf rather than keep borrowing ebooks from the library.
I’m going pretty good so far! Though I’ve had a problem ; some books on said unread shelf didn’t interested me anymore — being standing on it for a few years, untouched, and I never was in the right “mood” to read them.. or they just lost their appeal since.
I eventually would need to remove some that I have read from my shelf, but currently what needed clear was my unread shelf -so I can ad some more!! eheheh 😉–
I’ve managed to remove 8 of them.
- Le garçon qui voyait des démons (VF of “The boy who could see demons“)
- Agatha Christie duo book; l’affaire Protheroe & Jeux de glaces (VF of “Murder at the Vicarage” & “They do it with mirrors”)
- 13 reasons (Vf of “13 reasons why”)
- En attendant Doggo (Vf of “Waiting for Doggo“)
- Et je danse, aussi
- Le bonheur en cadeau (Vf of “Local hero / Temptation”)
- Au crépuscule des amants (Vf of “Blood Magick“) **
- L’amour écorché
Here’s the progress !! Now standing at 21 un-read books instead of the original 29.
Un-hauling is a process that’s quite hard for me to do, though needed, as my shelf can now breathe a little more.
One was the tome 2 of a serie I never intended to get nor start from the 1st one; so we can all agree I didn’t needed that one.. And atleast two books was some we got for my mother, who read them, but that I actually didn’t intended to read — so why keep them? The Agatha Christie was one I had rehomed from mother’s friend shelf she was selling.. and while I do need to get to her books, thoses might’ve not had been the “best ones”.
The other four has been there for maybe 4-5years already .. so I just lost interest in them. Iknow I had tried to read “Waiting for Doggo” at some point, but I just had to put it down and pick something else.
How you go about un-hauling books? Do you do often?
What were you recent un-hauls?
I really must un-haul! The relieved feeling afterwards is so worth it haha! Your shelves look great
Thank you!
Yess I agree — so much more space for books !! 👏🏼👏🏼 always exciting.. though it’s hard for me to decide to get rid of them xd its like « arhhh… I paid all that to throw it »
I haven’t unhauled books in what feels like forever. No one really takes them here, especially during corona. Instead I keep the ones I’m no longer interested in boxes in my walk in closet.
Yeah that’s the thing .. ive seen people selling them on fb market, but as far as taking them for donation, idk if they do. Our little library at work sure is gone now :/ which kinda makes me sad.. I’d always go take a peak if the book I left there is gone or not!
