Re-visiting old favorite; The Spiderwick Chronicles

Good morning!

I had spoke about this serie a few time on this blog; however, I had been quite scared for years to reread it, in fear that as I got older I wouldn’t find it as good anymore..

But then I saw the news that they were gonna remake a Spiderwick movie!! And I got super excited ~ going through my libby app, I found an unabridged audio version combining book 1 & 2.. so I finally caved!

I had found the books at a local bookstore im 2008, loving the scarched edges! I thought I was so cool for reading this serie.. and reread it so many times afterward! I even bought the Spiderwick Guide too. Though I had no idea about the spinoff serie!

While I originally read & kept my french physical copies, I decided to reread it through an english audiobook this time- because 1) I had meant to reread more books this year but also 2) moving to hopefully more audiobooks to able me to finish more books!

 

I was SO relieved to find out it was like slipping into an old pajama; talking about this to my friend at work even nearly made me cry ! 😅 even with the different format & language used this time, it felt so familiar still. I could see both the movie AND the pictures from the book in my head.

Will I finish the serie & give the rest a reread? I’m not sure yet.. I might continue and get the other unabridged double books, or even read my original copies if they were to be rented already. We’ll see if I get a mood switch!
