Reader’s problems tag !

Good morning everyone !

I’m back with a tag, as it’s been a while – since we did the One Lovely Blog award, in fact – and well, I love tags ! I wasn’t tagged, and rather saw it over at @wonderlandiansbooks‘ and I liked it – so here’s it is ! 😅

1. You have 20,000 books in your TBR, how in the world do you decide what to read next?

Well, it depends on what I feel like reading – as i’m a mood reader. It totally do not matter which I got first, I might start one I got last if that’s the one I feel like reading *shrugs* . If I got an Arc from NetGalley with an “expire date” though, i’ll probably pick that one first.

2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?

I still find it hard to DNF books .. I will try my hardest to carry on and try to finish it … but if I really cannot and it jump me into a slump, I will just have to stop reading it and put it back on my tbr, as I just refuse to not read it. I’ll try to pick it back at a later time to see if it changes anything.

3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how?

Well… last year I was 5books away from my goal in december, for exemple. With only one month left and knowing I read super slow and stuff.. No, I just let it go and motive myself to do better next year. I did had read 5books out of 10 from July to December, so that’s not too bad – considering I got a new job, and it was busy and I worked evenings … so most time I came home and felt just erh. Not reading as I was too lazy to get back up to close the light xD

4. The covers of a series you love do not match, how do you cope?

Eh, I don’t really mind. Knowing im not a reader of series to begin with ..

5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?

Most time, it’s the other way around actually .. im the one to like it when there’s many bad reviews, woops. It’s pretty rare I don’t like a book I picked up myself. I’d mostly try to get my mom or godmother to read it also in hope they like it also ahahah

6. You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal?

I feel kinda.. ashamed a bit, but keep crying anyway. It’s harder for me to keep my tears inside now, unlike what it was years ago. It just need to get out, you know ?

7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it?

I love re-reading, so you bet I do !

8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks?

eeeh – it’s rare I have people to borrow my books. Mostly just mom, which we live in the same house so watever – I can keep an eye on it hahah 👿 I just say no if I don’t feel like it, simple as that. She knows there’s some I wanna be the first one to read it, specially if I just bought it !

9. You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump?

I either wait it out, or reread an old favorite ! which I just did that in October we just passed.

10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying?

None, or maybe one or two. Mosts are only in english and well.. I’m still adjusting myself to that – so it depends if I really want it, or not. I might wait to see if it gets translated, or buy it later when I get more practice. I don’t really pay attention of if it’s a new release or not in my french books for some reasons..

11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?

It varies. as I said on the 1st question; i’m a mood reader ! So some might stay there for years.. while some stay only a couple of months/weeks.

I won’t be tagging anyone today, but feel free to share your answers with me in the comment or do like me and “steal” it from me with a link to my post ! Watever you feels like doing 🙂

  1. some hard questions there… 😂
i had a friend who used to borrow my books and give them back completely destroyed… i basically ended up never mentioning any book to her so I won’t give her ideas….

  2. This looks like a lot of fun, I’m definitely going to be grabbing it to do myself. 🙂 It seems like a lot of these problems weren’t so bad for you since you like to re-read books and read more standalones. I hadn’t considered the wait for new releases to be translated but it makes sense. There are several Japanese authors and books I wait to be published in English, but most never are so I just weep and admire from afar haha. Great post. 🙂

    1. Yeah 😅 easy ones! Haahaha but less entertaining to read however …
yeah – however I might not need to anymore as Im starting to expand what I can read in english aswell! So that’s something, I dont wanna stop reading in french though soo idk what it will end up like 😂
      Thank you!

  3. I am also a mood reader and I end up picking up and putting down a lot of books and coming around to them later. So basically, I am with you just reading whatever I want to read next! But if you’re not enjoying a book you should try DNFing. I don’t DNF much but some times the books are just so bad. D: I am all for rereading as well. Loved reading your answers!

    1. Aw thank you! Yeaaah i still feel a bit bad but if it is really to the point where im in a slump… i just have to .. place that back on the tbr and moving on 🙈
