Good morning everyone!
We’re having a spontaneous review today- I was infact so excited to get to The Comfort Book that I went on and read it in two days while still in the middle of another one 😅
5 / 5 stars
While it was somehow not what I had expected, though it’s true it’s kind of the same format as Reasons to Stay Alive & Notes on a nervous planet, I do love the format very much. A couple of different quotes/stories/anything jammed & mixed together to create this inspiring book.
He created this novel like I shaped my main tumblr blog- little bits here and there that hit us and makes us feel better, or that we think we should remember. Allowing us to look back and crack it open any time we need to.
Not only is it a great book for your soul, but as someone who can usually only read one book at a time; I believe this is the best book to pair & read at the same time as one that has a storyline to it, or while on a reading slump to help you get back to reading.
I personally read past halfway of it on one day where I felt specially blah- I was kinda nauseous, my head was paining, basically a setting where I wouldn’t exactly pick up a book — but the reading was quite comforting indeed, as the title suggest. It’s a light & fast paced enjoyeable read.
I haven’t read Haig yet, but I keep hearing such a great things! I didn’t realize he did these kind of books as well!
You really should try one of his book! Ironically, I found him via twitter first, as I didn’t realized he was an author 🤣 I just love his presence into speaking about MH, as a fellow sufferer himself.
I have partly read Reasons to stay alive, but I am keen to read this book too. I have heard The Midnight Library is pretty good too.
Yes! I did read the midnight library,i liked it 🙂 passed it to my friend to read hahah the concept behind that one is really cool.
