The final girl support group ~ Grady Hendrix ☆ Book Review

The final girl support group ~ Grady Hendrix ☆ Book Review

Good morning,

I finally got to read it !! I remember telling my friend about this one before it actually launched like a year ago, while we were watching Fear Street 1994 — and then proceeded not to buy it until last month 😅  Slightly forgot about it for a while to be honest, ahah and then as I was reading community reviews about it, I got reminded of how hyped I was for it.

I’m not too sure what I was expecting – but it wasn’t quite this. I however loved that we have the story devided by snippets of other things.. I am a lover for the inclusions of mixed medias! The one moment Lynette met her therapist’s son in his room was particularly funny 😂  (if you know, you know), It definately made me giggle inside & break off a smirk.

I’m not a fan of slow starts.. Lynette running around for half of the novel wasn’t too too fun. While being hinted at a few times, we actually don’t know what happened to Lynette at the start; just a few details here and there until around halfway into the book where it gets told to us. As it unfolds, some things we were meant to believe at the start wasn’t actually what happened. I was scared it was gonna be one of those where the MC had imagined all the bad things happened because *insert a mental illness here*, and i’m really glad it wasn’t! A 360 that I didn’t expected the culprit to have been… Overall an enjoying read!

« Murder isn’t an attempt to steal birth from woman; we make children, they kill them. We create life, they create death. It’s the way it’s always been »

« When all that’s left is the final girl and the monster, what happens? (..) The final girl and the monster are two sides of one person. (..) He comes back. And eventually, she kills him. She sets him free and in doing so she frees herself. She’s the ying to his yang.»

« No one is too far gone to be brought back. No one is too lost to be found. No one. »

Have you read this one, whatcha thought about it?
