Hello everyone!
Idk about you, but i’ve always dreamt of having my very own reading nook, especially one of these window seated ones 🥰 I was rearanging my rooms’ furniture around the other day (as you do, ahah) and I found quite some empty spaces.. so I decided I wanted to finally create one!
Part one, the chair;
Ofcourse I’d need a chair first.. as I’ve gotten rid of some furnitures in the past (vanity, white old rocking chair), the only furnitures I have now is my double bed, a desk/table thing, standing jewelry box and my shelves.
I ended up finding one in Bouclair, A canadian furniture retailer (in sale 30%!). Unfortunately, they were out of stock in store but I kept it in mind and kept browsing some more. I later decided to go buy it online- I couldn’t wait for it to arrive and starting my little project ! 🥰
Next, a table and lamp;
I’m a night time reader, so ofcourse this make sense. In my mind’s eye, I could also see me reading with a cup’s hot chocolate, or with my heated blanket on..I was getting pretty annoyed as I couldn’t find anything per my vision- at first I thought one of those wheeled cart everybody have.. but I thought mh. Wrong vibe? Overpriced? So I kept looking.
The holy grail presented itself on an amazon’s publicity on instagram, at midnight. Spot on, I could see it in my vision! Thin enough to not take too much room (kinda limited, here), and would fit beautifully between my wall & chair.
It took me a few to finally find a light;as with majora I need something sturdy enough and not breakable that if my cat decide he shove it on the floor it won’t break .. and yet ofcourse I need it to light it okay to be able to read with it. I went with this super cute flower bendable one- offering 3 kind of lightning AND a iron base.
Final result!
I’m missing the light, but it turned out perfect to my vision; I hadn’t need to worry I had plenty of space. I can lay back with my feet up on my bed, my light on the table, I have a space where I can put my current book and laydown my phone 🥰
Do you have a reading nook setup?
Oh, I love the colour on the wall! It looks like a very cozy nook perfect for reading! I also have two nooks, one a bit similar to yours just with a mint green wall and pink chair and the other is set behind two shelves with a big fatboy beanbag, perfect if you just want to hide from real life for a bit.
Oooooh! I was limited on what type of chairs I could have as my senior male dachshund is known to pee on stuff 😅 so I needed something higher aha
Oh no, I can imagine you want something higher then. My dog likes to pee on things too, but so far that is limited to carpets (or soft things on the floor). 😭
Uhoh 😅 mine has a thing for his brother cat stuff 🤦🏽♀️ but yeah anything on the floor basically..
