Keep!

I love the dynamic duo of Minnie & Quinn, both sharing a January 1st birthday; He’s absolutely loveable and she’s caring.  She’s also quite spicy, which unfortunately bring her to argument way too far in fights..

It was interresting to hear the backstory of the stolen name, and I can definately see why Minnie would had grown to ressent Quinn.. her mother definately did her wrong by constantly reminding her that « things wouldn’t be that way if you would’ve been a Quinn! ». On that note, all that negativity from her mother is probably the root of her birthday being jinxed.

Quinn’s mother, on the other hand, is severely distressed in her mental health – suffering from agoraphobia and panic attacks. Each of them have such an opposite kind of relationship with their mothers.. On one side her mother constantly seemed to attack her, and on the other he grew up taking care of his. To have also been in the role of a mother’s carer, I can totally understand Quinn’s POV, and how much that could affect his relationships with people – seeing how close friends & past dates used to joke and belittle his mother was heartbreaking!

It worked so great to have the novel going back-and-forth from current (2020) to prior years, where we draw the dots to be all the times Minnie & Quinn met before.. without knowing it was them! My favorite has to be NYE 2003 with Quinn’s POV 🥰
