Top 5 Tuesday ~ Hyped books i’m not interrested in reading

Good morning!

Here we are with this meme that i’ve been yet again spying on the topics to see which ones i’d love to jump in on 👀

Top 5 Tuesday was created by Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm, and is now being hosted by Meeghan @ Meeghan reads. Here’s the topics for July to September, if you’d be interrested.

✿ July 20th; top 5 hyped books i’m not interrested in reading

I gotta say that at first I was not gonna do this one- because as we know, I’m staying very much away from fantasy right now.. which is mostly what the blogosphere has been hyping about. So I felt like the list could go on forever 🤣

Though i’ve been enjoying snooping around on other’s list.. and I’ve been wanting to give it a go! ofcourse thoses will be mainly the first five that I could think of.. know the list is so much more longer as I don’t read fantasy nor historical.

✿ Any Cassandra Clares book

No real particular reason.. I’m just not too too keen on any of her books 🤷🏽‍♀️ The only of her books that I do know what it’s about has been the mortal instrument serie, as I’ve watched the movie.

✿ Becoming, Michelle Obama

I’m not too too keen on the US’s politics (though I was so happy that mr. yellow clown was out of the office.. *aherm*), and autobiographies as a whole is generally a no for me, with exceptions.

✿ Six of crows serie, Leigh Bardugo

I did found one translated in french.. and though i’ve heard so much good with the boys friendships and crows and all that… but sadly I had no desire whatsoever to read it.

✿ The night circus, Erin Morgenstern

I tried.. I really tried!! Though i’ve been putting the fault to my poor brain capacity back then, i’m not wanting to pick it back up ever either — I just remember the middle of the book and I was so LOST in all the different POV, I had no idea what in hell was going on there..

The selection serie, Kiera Cass

The covers looks pretty bland to me; sure there’s some pretty dresses in there but they don’t really appeal to me..

Ofcourse I tried to pick different books than my usual Harry potter/Hunger games, as i’ve stated multiple time that I have no desire for either of them, in any form, so I wanted some change 😅

Which hyped books won’t you be reading?
Do we have books in common? Have you read any of thoses?

  1. I won’t be reading any nonfiction book so I agree with Michelle Obama book. I tried reading Six of Crows but it just gave me a headache. Some hyped books I’m not interested in are The Hate U Give, any John Green book, Children of Blood and Bone, Red Queen and I don’t think I’ll ever finish Harry Potter books.

I love Cassandra Clare books. They even got me into reading and I remember enjoying The selection series when it was first translated into Finnish.

    1. That’s fair! I do love reading mental health non fiction, mostly about anxiety and depression, but not autobiography type of things.. I also agree with that list. Though iknow the hate u give is an important one… doesn’t looks like something id enjoy.

Aww that’s great!! The thing that got us into a specific hobby is always cherished xx

  2. I think for me the most hyped book I don’t think I’ll ever read is going to be The Lord of The Rings or Wheel of Time series. I don’t see why people like that much? I don’t feel drawn to them at all.

    1. omg yes, the lord of the rings’ a big NOPE for me too.. so massive, so many books. ;-; ..and I actually never heard of the second one before rofl! but as a fantasy too, same :p

  3. I’m not really a nonfiction person as well but I surprisingly enjoyed Becoming by Michelle Obama! If I remember most of the book is her as a child and meeting Barack (and their relationship) and the rest of it is her being a first lady. I’m not one for politics either, so I was expecting more than was actually the case (thankfully).

You’re not missing out on The Selection honestly – I only finished the first book because my friend and I turned it into a comedy sketch in DMs to get through reading it.

I don’t think I’ll get around to reading the rest of the Shadowhunters books either, but I might read Chain of Gold? I loved The Infernal Devices, but I never got around to finishing The Mortal Instruments and I hated the movie. (Show is okay so far.)

    1. See, im the wierd one as I kinda liked the movies 😂 Maybe id get to check the serie out.

Oh well thats good that you enjoyed becoming, and that it was less political than expected!
