Top Ten Tuesday ~ Bookish brags or confessions

Hey guys!

We’re doing October 8th prompt; Bookish brags or confessions, what are you proud of or not-so-proud of in your bookish life? (submitted by Lydia @ https://lydiaschoch.com)

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Sorry, we’re coming a bit late today.. we had a little hiccup with our internet at home; they installed something on our house and after they unhooked and hooked the internet again our modem decided to stop working 😅 So no internet for a whole day, and I couldn’t even publish or schedule it from my phone.. I had to wait for them to come while at work and needed to come on my computer after work.

Brags;

  • Authors came to me by themselves for me to review books, after I read one of theirs in the past 🥰 While one was an author from a previous review request that contacted me for her second book, the second time was a publisher after I had read their first novel on Netgalley, so they came & proposed me their second.

Confessions;

  • I’ve never read ANY of the mandatory school readings 🙈 I was weaker in english than my peers but because I still wanted to stay in regular english (VS a “easier” class), they gave me a pass. I was guessing my way through the tests with what we’ve seen in class ahah!
  • Non-fiction makes me sleepy. no matter what topic it is, even true crime! As I read before bed, after I take my sleep medication, my brain feels tired faster.. it doesn’t happen with any other genre.
  • After 4 novel in a serie, that starts to be too much for me.. you bet that if I hear the serie has LOTS of tome and go beyond that point, i’m not gonna pick it up.
  • If you throw me a 3rd act breakup (which I hate!), I’ll flash forward to the end to make sure they end up together before throwing the book at the wall! 🤣 So far they all did, so no book thrown as of late.

What’s your bookish brags or confessions?
