Trying to fix my messed up sleep schedule with Pokemon Sleep

Helloo!

My sleep schedule has always been messed up, thinking of myself more of an insomniac, to where I’d struggle to sleep on the next day after I’d have gotten a full night sleep where i’d have gone to bed earlier than usual. Most sleeping aid also doesn’t work on me.. so that’s quite difficult.

As I had been wanting to try some sleep tracker app, Pokemon sleep came out! Which is a tracker included in a sort of pokemon game. The goal is to investigate sleep patterns in pokemons, grow our snorlax as much as possible within a week span, and getting more pokemon helpers to gater berries & cooking items, etc.

* Despite the app saying so, NEVER leave your phone plugged in while recording your sleep on your matress. The app isn’t that battery draining, so you can just not plug it in.

In the three weeks that I’ve been using the app, the reward of the game was just what I needed to help me keep track of actually going to bed around my bedtime everyday, as of which i’d set up at 12:30am. Even on the days where I wanna go later than that, it’s usually within the next hour.

Furthermore, I seem to have less trouble falling asleep. The few days where it had taken me hours to drift off had been because tangible things where A) I had been too warm because AC broke or B) my legs had been acting up and really painful. I find myself having less instance where I had been just laying there WAITING for sleep to take me.. with nothing happening.

Week 1

Week 2

Week 3

As you can see with my graphs here, I have some kind of consistency happening! The only thing the app is missing is an option to pause/resume recordings.. As I usually wake up around 7 to feed my animals, and go back to bed few minutes after. So the hours that I’ve sleept doesn’t quite coincide there.

Have you ever had to fix your sleep schedule?
What did or didn’t worked for you?
