Although I’m quite old now, I always wanna believe that love wins over everything — despite not having lived too many things myself yet.
I just crave that romance side in everything I consume (both book, tv show, animes, etc.) to have that form of strong bond between both lovers no matter what. I do not believe in cheating or “having more than one at a time”.. love isn’t about that stuff.
Let me explain three exemples of what i’m a sucker with (and most definately will have me crying.. *aherm*)
• « The silvering », from Josie Jaffrey’s sovereign books;
I’m not gonna give any character in particular to not spoil too much about that.. It is basically a strong link between two entities (one vampire and one human) that virtually link the two together. Although the vampires in that universe are the hardest to kill, having « silvered » is their kryptonite; thus needing it to remain a secret for their protection.
Not only do we have that strong bond that’s unbreakable and you obviously cannot have with more than one person; the vampire is also incredibly strong and is able to keep their human safe — another thing i’m a sucker for.
• Elizabeth & Meliodas, the Seven Deadly Sins Anime
Being the captain of the Sins, he is of course a badass one!! He’ll do anything to protect his princess from the danger.. keeping his place at her side, always. Even separated or in a state where he should be unable to fight, he will always pop up whenever she’s in trouble to beat the heck of anyone who wanna do her harm.
He made her a promise and he’ll do anything possible to keep it! Added that she’s the (unknown to her) reincarnation of his first love has me SWOONING!!
• Link and Zelda, The Legend of Zelda Videogame Franchise
Of course I had to include this one, didn’t I? No matter the game you choose, they’ll always have that link between them as they always reincarnate the same way; The princess and her valiant Knight.
Though it was obviously a fact Link couldn’t avoid her being captured, which is the point of the whole game *aherm*, He get to face all thoses monsters and boss fights to get to her and save her (okay, okay.. AND the world..). It get specially more meaningful as they aren’t just strangers- games like “Skyward Sword” and “Breath of the wild” picture them as friends first, before she was captured.

I am a sucker for enemies to lovers. But not like toxic enemies to lovers but those that I don’t like you because I assumed something about you that isn’t true.

You all went in the same way in the comments ! ahaha – but yes ! I do agree too, specially if they are enemies because they are from two different worlds (white “high class” with a latino in a gang, per exemple)
I love Elizabeth and Meliodas…so cute! I like enemies turned lovers…I haven’t read a good book in that category lately, but I watched an anime, “The Devil Is a Part-Timer” that did a really good job in that trope, although, I think you have to read the manga to get the full relationship part lol

I’m not quite as sucked into those as you. But I am a total sucker for a strong female who knows who she is, what she wants and chases it. But at the same time if the guy gives in too quickly that turns me off the romance.
I’ma sucker for a strong female who has a partner who doesn’t try to take away her strength, where she can save them (and sometimes he can save her too) <3 loved your Link and Zelda one!
