rereading books; some like it, while some don’t.
We will have many different point of view on this, and many different opinions. Which all of them are totally fine. If you’ve been here for a while already, you’d know it’s something I actually love to do and that I have always done since the very beginning of my reading path and will probably continue doing for all the rest of time.
But why do I love it so much ??
It can be very similar to watching a movie again and again, or even replay your favorite game constantly.
Some books just feel like home – If you’re a mood reader like me, sometimes you just crave that ONE character or that world in particular that you just have to go and dive in it again.
Sometimes they’re just that good – Though they might leave you with a heavy book hangover, you just wanna read it over and over again
Comfort place – Like comfort food, but with a book ! you know, that one book that seems to make everything so much better and okay again.
Don’t. want. it. to. end. !!! – If I keep rereading it over and over, maybe it won’t end right? right ??
Do you reread your books ? Why/why not ?
Is there another reason I might’ve had skipped?
I totally agree with you! Rereading a book really feels like coming home sometimes. Some characters just have a special place in your heart as your friends do and at times you just need them in your life. Reading new books can be super interesting and it’s amazing to discover new stories and characters, but nothing feels as good as coming back to a world or character you care for deeply. At least, that’s how I think of it 🙂
Yes totally !!
New books and rereads alike are good, but there’s just some moments where you just need to go back to them.
I’m in agreement with re-reads can have a really homey feeling to it. It’s like your favourite soft sweater or pants, it’s not new and exciting, it’s old reliable. It’s great! I myself am a big fan of re reads, actually I think I mentioned it on a post recently. But it helps me if I’m drained and exhausted from reading a bad series etc. then ol’ reliable helps me get back on track 🙂
Always! One good remedy to reading slump 😘
I reread ALL THE TIME. I might actually have to go reread something now because my last book put me in a slump.
Aww .. im not really in a slump but my reading is soo slow 😪 still only at 32 and im on it since weeks 😂
New books are good, but sometimes rereads are better
Completely agree with every single point of yours … I’m a mood reader too, so I do need to dive back into those familiar worlds sometimes to feel the comfort.
I occasionally re-read a book. I’ve read my favorites many times over and always walk away with something new. However, I have so many other books I want to read, that I don’t do it very often.
Yeah, understandable.
I’m focusing on my review request I got, last reread was maybe in february ? Though after i’m done this batch I plan on maybe rereading one and go onto my physical tbr pile x) so I can plop a review on here on all thoses I loved but barely remember ahah
I used to re read them …before blogging. Now I don’t have the time anymore (ironic isn’t it?). It was the perfect way to get out of a book funk!
I do because I like knowing that I’m reading a book I like. Sometimes rereading a book after a long time can even feel like you’re reading it for a first time. I just love rereading books and it’s awesome to already own a book you ant to read instead of always ordering new ones!
I totally agree with that!
Re-reading books is something I’ve done ever since I was a child. If I found a book or series I loved, I’d read it to death because it helped me sort through a lot of difficult things, and that’s still the same today. I also find a lot of new details when re-reading books and it helps me understand as well as love them even more.
yep! some things you either dont remember, or overlooked and now you just realise why it was there
I read so many more books nowadays that I am so prone to forgetting details and plot points even in those books I really love. Re-reading fixes them in my mind!
Absolutely! I used to remember ALL the books I read, until now ahah 😅🙈
It’s probably the last two for me. I always find myself wanting to get back to the world of Percy Jackson, so I always reread scenes and even my favorite fanfiction. ♥
I personally have yet to read fanfiction! I shall give them a try someday
Yes, books can feel like home! I really like finding new small details and the foreshadowing I would’ve missed the first time around because I didn’t know the outcome yet.
yes !! moments where you just go “oooooh….” as you finally know why that was there ahah
So many love re-reading their favorites! I love The Other series! It starts with Written in Red. Alternative world with shapeshifters and other creatures. ♥️
Ouhh I gotta check it out
I normally don’t re-read books, but I have re-read Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver toonnnss of times and I’m thinking about re-reading Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell. It’s a super long book but it feels oddly perfect for a summer read.
Do it ! Life’s too short not to reread books, hehe,.
I’ve noticed that, for me, some stories actually gain a lot when I already know the ending or who’s “secretly evil” or stuff like that. It helps me appreciate the little details and hints that an author put in, that I didn’t catch the first time around.
yeps, I agree with that !
Even if I know the ending .. I end up bawling my eyes out regardless… ahah
