Xmas & Bday Book Haul! (+ a bonus!)

I’m lucky enough to have my birthday soon after Christmas, meaning that my parents decided to give me a *tad* more gifts, or atleast some bigger ones as it’s twinning for two events.

I do love me some roaming around the bookstore and looking around, but because of Christmas & Covid, I decided to go on and order it from my Indigo Chapter’s website instead and have it deliver to my door. I gotta say that I surprisingly LOVED IT! so I went on and do the same for my birthday — While the atmosphere isn’t the same, it is way easier to find books that way; especially thoses in french or even a mix of both.

Xmas haul;

My best friend surprised me this year by adding a 25$ giftcard to a small gift that she sent me by mail. Sadly, French books being quite pricier, I could only get one book.

I went with this Quebec French one roaming around the fact that staying friends with an ex is never a good idea, in this “humoristic” fiction story.  [Goodreads]

 

 

Birthday Haul ;

As we do every year, I got my annual bookstore giftcard from my parents! However, the amount was smaller than I’d thought – as they decided to go half/half between iTunes & Chapters. I however had an extra 10% off with my premium card, aswell as the remaining of the first giftcard.. and I had enough points for a 5$ off (I could’ve technically add a 4th book if I wanted to spent a 20$ from me.. but as I wasn’t too sure if I wanted it or not, I just went with 3)

* As it was purchased online on Dec 29th, my books still hasn’t arrived yet, thus the cover picture is coming from their Goodread pages.

 

• Looking at my virtual-wanna-read shelf, I decided to pick “Together, Apart” first- because hey, falling in love while in lockdown? different stories where the love wins? hell ya! Sounds like something i’d need right now [Goodread]
• Next, I went with the newest Ruth Ware.. as I’m done all thoses that I had from her on my shelf and I needed more — still not sure about the lying game, as i don’t have that one either, and somehow forgot I didn’t had “Turn of the Key” yet. [Goodread]
• Lastly, I’ve had seen “Almost Adult” on someone’s blog and absolutely NEEDED IT — but as I’ve been wanting to read more french books again, as I got taken with english ones in a while, I went with the French Traduction of it. [Goodread]

    

 

 

Bonus;

Technically I didn’t bought this one.. but the next day I got a review request asking to review a steamy romance (will be my first of that genre!) with a Canadian MC who swears in French too! While the giggle that I got at that randomly-placed swear is what made me think that I NEEDED to read that book, the synopsis looked pretty good too!

Should be the next book that i’m gonna pick up after i’m finished my current read!
