First line Fridays ⇢ 04/01/22
Heey!
Here we are with this again, early this time, as I don’t usually post on fridays 😅.. so when I decide to hop in, it’s gonna be on thursdays instead- whoops! I always have so much fun reading thoses and trying my luck at guessing; and after my first one i’m having quite some fun opening some random books trying to find the perfect one!
First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by @Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines? If you want to make your own post, feel free to use or edit the banner above, and follow the rules below:
- Pick a book off your shelf (it could be your current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page
- Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet – you need to hook the reader first
- Finally… reveal the book!
Again, I feel like it’s better giving it as a paragraph, so you can grasp the idea more. Okay, let’s go!
« There were certain days I could remember like they were yesterday. The summer morning when my mom finally learned how to bake, which, coincidentally, was also the day our appartment stopped smelling like a smokehouse. Or when I was ten and learned how to ride my bike without training wheels. But remembering wasn’t always a good thing. There were days I would give anything to forget. »

The books is “The upside down of falling”! Granted, I haven’t read this one yet — but it’s been on my Spring TBR, getting super excited to finally get to it!
Did you liked this book?
Could you guess it by the opening line?
This was so familiar but I couldn’t figure it out! I read an ARC when it came out and totally forgot about most of it. LOL. I did remember enjoying it though and I hope you do too!
Rofl uh oh 😂 atleast you know you liked it, im hopeful I will too!
