April ‘26 Wrap up ☁️

Good morning!

As you’ll read this, i’m officially on my week of vacation from work! ☺️ This one is quite different, as i’m not going anywhere precisely, but i’m fully alone for the whole week … let’s see how it goes. This past month had also been packed with action for once!

April’s feels;

Firstly, Sheik had been needing another course of antibiotics for her chronic sinusitis; which gave me quite a bit of trouble going back & forth with the vet 😅 she needed another prescription, and the lady at the front desk wasn’t sure if she could fill it as there was no “end date”. But the next week was her Cardiologist appointment, the first one since her episode of “Congestive heart failure” so I had been pretty nervous.. Turns out it had been a mistake- it wasn’t her heart being the issue but her lungs! He promptly removed the extra two meds we had been giving her (the spironolactone & Furosemide). The relief we felt! I’m not mad at our vet, as what she saw was indeed making sense with Sheik’s diagnosis, but I don’t think she knew that a Dachshund’s heart are made different from other small breeds- it’s significantly larger, as their thorax cage are bigger, but in Sheik’s cases, her heart had actually shrank and wasn’t enlarged at all.

Next, I had my hearing appointment at the hospital that I had asked for a referal 2yrs ago in 2024; I had under suspiscion that I had a problem with my brain not processing what I heard properly. But as we found out, I successfully passed all the test but one- the one measuring how much spacing between words is needed for you to understand.. only 50/55, but it was a odd one as she was saying people usually aces this one 😆 And in order to get the disorder diagnosis, you need to fail atleast three tests- so i’m quite a mystery. I’ll say that it did help knowing what was the problem, however, as now the too lound noises at work don’t bother me as much anymore! I know what to look out for and concentrate on that.

Lastly, we celebrated 11 years since mother’s kidney transplant. While this year I haven’t been thinking of it as much, I got a peak of emotion at work.. We know she would’ve had this much time with us otherwise, and i’m just so thankful for the donor’s family to go through for my mother to receive his kidney; which has been working like it was hers since Day 1.

It was also Majora’s fourth birthday.

What I read this month;

I finished 4 books this month: You were never here, Crimes sans frontières, Night shift & Instructions for dancingI’ve officially completed my Bookish Chaos Reading Challenge!

April’s Highlights;

♥︎  Blogging wise, apart of my Randomized my TBR, Top ten tuesday and #WWWednesday, I posted; Easter eggs in books 🐰What happens when you have social anxiety in crowded areasWhy I love having a multi-animal household.

♥︎ I also had to switch theme, in case anyone had noticed! The one I was using (Creamblog) had been flagged for a security issue & I couldn’t update it. While I was annoyed at first and hated the block design template, I gotta say I quite like this one better!

♥︎ Gaming wise, I’ve been obsessing over Infinity Nikki on my Steamdeck… which quite slowed me on my reading again ahah every waking moment and at work, i’ll just be dreaming about coming home to play 😅
