Good morning!
As you’ve seen in my Reading Challenge; this year i’ve been wanting to broad up into the genres that I don’t usually pick up.. and that includes Poetry! I’ve been kindly invited to read this poetry collection by the author, a work devided in three parts.
Between Lost and Found and Infinite is a collection of sixty poems divided into three parts.
Lost explores the futility of unhappy endings.
Found injects hope into despair, rising with beautiful promise.
Infinite lingers on the wonders of life and reflects on the sweetness of the universe.With themes of memory, grief, self-discovery, relationships, and longing, this is a compilation to savor and cherish.
* Disclamer: I did received a copy of this book from the author for review purpose. However, this didn’t impacted my review; those are my genuine thoughts about it *
Goodread’s page
4 / 5 stars
The lost;
This part felt so reliable at times.. my favorite out of this section was: Why, the party guest, paths, the pain and the girl. The last one in this section, circus, struck me as a great metaphor for depression.. or what I experience most often as « the party pooper »; the circus being hapiness, that seems to be cut from you by the drench- which would depression.
The found;
This section speaks volume about the decisions we need to make, to choose ourselves and our needs first.. and I felt this, as just few months ago I needed to take the decision to prioritize myself and let go of someone I loved- but couldn’t stay friends with. My favorites of the section was: Swimming, the greatest love of all, frantic, the magical land, how things are now, seen, when you returned, hide and seek & the dinner party.
Coffee conversation especially made me shed a few tears, the way it was written directly at the reader and I absolutely needed the reminder; I gave this one a reread.
The infinite;
Favorites from this last part: nothing, what I have learned, the curtain and midnight.
My soul friend meant alot to me, as I did found mine too- my bestfriend is my soulmate; never had I found someone else like her nor created such a strong bond with anyone else.
