Book of the moment; Gardez l’oeil ouvert, Tome 2 ~ Victoria Charlton 🌸

Helloo!

Although I won’t be doing a full review of this book, because it’s from a Quebec French writing only, I atleast wanted to talk about it today as it’s the book I had been reading for a while. For a few months, i’ve been saying how i’ve been in a “true crime” mood lately- as of which I’ve mostly enjoyed Victoria Charlton’s videos on youtube! I absolutely watched all her new videos and went into much older ones aswell for more true crime stories, I enjoy listening to them while gaming alot 😅

When out & about for stuff like shampoo/etc. At a pharmacy, I stumbled upon the second tome of her book of 15 unsolved cold cases — and I just couldn’t pass it up, even though I haven’t gotten the first one.

I know that virtually anything are possibly written about; but I wasn’t aware that true crime books were a thing (not that it had interrested me before either).

I love how it’s 15 different stories, so you can easily read through it – and her way of writing is like she’s talking to you, opposed to just reading an article, and I absolutely love that! I admire her dedication to what she does and how big hearted this woman is ❤️ giving her all to inform us of the cases to give them all the visibility that they deserve.

If you can read and/or understand Quebec French, I highly recommend her books & her youtube channel.

*spoiler-ish ahead*

The one case that shocked me the most so far was one from the World War II, where the skeleton of a woman has been found INSIDE a tree. Just- how. They still hasn’t found who did it to this day either, given how old this is now.. everyone involved is sadly most probably dead now. I just don’t understand how one can shove a body in a tree ;-;
