Heey !!
Yes, I am a week late 😂 Tânia from “My lovely secret” had turned last week in a cake week!! I so wanted to join but alas as all my posts were already done… I couldn’t plug it then, so oops.
Better late than never, I’m gonna do it today anyway ahah – you can see her post right here. The tag was created by the amazing Cait @ paperfury (inspired from #CakeFlavouredBooks tag on bookstagram)!
Chocolate Cake; A dark book you absolutely love
I’ll just pretend thriller counts as dark, as I have no idea otherwise 😂 I’d say “In a dark dark wood” !
Vanilla cake ; A light read
“The art of french kisssing” was really good and sweet – set in a cooking competition!
Also, though it’s a thriller and the end was a major WHAT?? – “Such a good girl” was just so easy to read .. I always ended up reading like 3chapters before bed instead of one as I was meaning to xD
red Velvet ; A book that gave you mixed emotions
I wanna say “all our bright places” – I did loved that book, they were so sweet together; but the serious matter of mental illness and suicide .. I was not entirely expecting it to be like that .. specially not near the end.
Cheesecake ; A book you would recommand to anyone
I have two of thoses now, mainly books id scream about until the end of tiime – romance and YA fantasy. “Sweet thing” and “heavenward” !!
Coffee cake ; A book you started but never finished
I have a bunch .. I always like to say “The night circus” – The resume looked really good to me, but I ended up WAY too lost to finish it xD I only saw after how hyped it was..
I also dnfed “adulting 101”, “fractured”, “waiting for doggo” ..
Carrot Cake ; A book with great writing
Frankly.. I can’t tell what is and what isn’t .. specially not in english !
Tiramitsu ; A book that left you wanting more
Heavenward !!! Heavenward !!! The way it cuts is just .. aaahhh!! Now that Iknow he’s trustable, I don’t get to know more of what she’ll do ? I dont get to have more of them ?? Nooo …
(Ps; go see my review, and the interview I did with Olga ! xx )
Cupcakes ; A serie with 4+ books
I don’t read thoses anymore, but “the spiderwick chronicles” (5 books) and in french “Le journal d’Aurélie Laflame” (8 books)
Fruit cake ; Book that wasn’t what you anticipated
In a Good way; “In a dark dark wood”
In a bad way; It was in 2012, but “the dinosaur’s feather” .. I wasn’t into DNFing yet and .. I spent MONTHS trying to finish that one. I usually LOVES thriller but, not that one.
Have you read any of thoses books I talked about – how did you found them?
What a fun book tag! Mmm, am now thinking about eating cake whilst reading….
cake always sound like a good idea, doesnt it !
Definitely!
I definitely had mixed emotions about All The Bright Places too…I liked the characters, but I really didn’t like the way it ended, and it seemed like the author had tried too hard to make it poetic, and to make the characters quirky.
Great post! 🙂
I surely didn’t saw it coming … or I did, but not wanted to. I stumbled upon a blogger saying they liked but wouldn’t reread as something was triggering for them and I went uhoh … what is it .. and I falled on it.
It probably made me shed alot of tears, I loved thoses two..
This tag definitely seems like fun 🙂 I am yet to read All the Bright Places and now seeing so many mixed reviews I am not sure how to go with that 🙂
Oh, and now that I have the name “Heavenward” too many times on your blog, I need to look it up 😀
yeah, it’s one of thoses book.. I’ll give you a trigger warning for suicide/suicide thoughts .. If that’s okay with you, then i’d recommend it ! If not, you should pass it – I was so not expecting that scene to be true.
YES ! you risk to see it so much more still on my blog ahah might wanna look into what all this is about .. 😏
Haha sure 😂 No, I don’t have any issues with the trigger warnings 😊
Perfect ! ☺️
Not as bad as 13reasons why but.. iknow some bloggers who were incomfortable by it
