Good morning, everyone!
Although we’re self-isolating, today is a very special day for our family, as it marks the 6th year anniversary of mother’s kidney transplant. Every year, we’re making something special for it — this year I wanted to give it a bookish twist on it. Although I had already wrote about the few books on it that I knew, in this post where i’m talking of this topic I wanted more books about.
♥ This post has been semi-inspired by Charvi’s post making books synopsis out of songs; making me branch into the idea of creating book synopsis, hers is actually really creatives, so go give it a look if you fancy!
I had been wanting to include as many different situations as I could, because of the variety of things that can happen with this topic, which is what is lacking with the few books that i’ve seen that had been written on it.. most of them being about heart transplants only.
* The ressemblance with any existing written novel is purely coincidencial, as I only found out about thoses on the aftermath. The second synopsis is closely tied with my own story, although it’s not exactly what happened.
♥ The red string (heart transplant)
Sarah passed all her childhood in hospital, hooked to machines with a failing heart. Unexpectedly on her 17th anniversary, an anonymous donor allowed her to find the joys of being a normal teen, with a functioning heart and everything! Suddently, she was allowed to leave the hospital for good, attending a real school for the first time of her life; pursuing her dreams.. and love. Sarah have no idea why she’s suddently so drawn to this mystery girl at her new school; only to find out a part of her knows her already.
♥ For the love of a mother (kidney transplant, living donor)
All that Jasmine ever want in life is to see her mother happy, even if that means donating a part of her own body to her. Through the 19years of her life, all that she had known was a sick mother fighting for her life throughout dialysis.. and she can’t take any more of it. Jasmine has been there for her mother all this time: taking care of her, being strong for her, and even researched on her illness. With determination, she came with a plan to save her mother from this dialysis hell.. a plan that absolutely cannot fail.
♥ The gift of life (organ donation)
When Lilianne lost her twin sister, it was a pure shock. Never would she had imagined that in 5mins her life could take such a wrong turn.. Since they were 12, Ashley was everything that Lilianne ever had, and now she got ripped off from her life because of a drunk driver. Broken and absolutely devastated, she have to take the hardest decision of her life: does she grant her sister’s wish to donate her organs? She knows it’s the right solution, but everything hurt so much.. the world is spiralling out of her control, and all she want is to have her sister by her side again — having all her pain and troubles dissolving into the void.
What do you think of my created synopsis, would you read them?
Have you read any book involving Organ Donation or Transplant before?
Oooh I love your synopsis!
I think the only time I’ve read about organ transplant is in Our Year of Maybe by Rachel Solomon which is an absolute delight to read 😍
Yess!! It’s on my list 🥰 thank you xx
