Do you have a « cover memory » for old books?

Do you have a « cover memory » for old books?

Good morning!

As I’ve been a reader all of my life, my brain decided to erase all the data that consisted of childhood books/read books prior to like, 2018 😅

For some, I clearly remember the main storyline of it – but NO IDEA what the title is. Others I’ve plainly forgotten all together about them, even if I knew i’ve read it only because it’s still on my shelves.

Something pretty cool happened the other day actually, upon finishing a french book I had went on a rabbit hole of snooping other reviewer’s account and the books they had read/on their to be read.. While I found OTHER interresting french books, and we know that’s hard for me to find some nowadays, I also ended up meeting books that I knew I’ve read!!

One of which I honestly didn’t knew it was a Sarah Dessen, I just looked at the french cover in front of me and my brain went “!!! IVE READ THAT” — It was a book I’d read in high school, and I clearly remembered the cover; ofcourse the synopsis also matched up with what I remembered of it. The english title is “The truth about forever“, by Sarah Dessen.

I’m a bit sad that I’ve completely forgot alot of books, all that I fully remember and can tell you about are Le journal d’Aurélie Lafflamme, The spiderwick chronicles and that’s about it.. All my high school years book are gone >:/

It’s also tricky that i’ve only read french books until 2020, so there’s not even alot of people who know about them xD and that’s on the slim chance that they’re written in english too – and oh boy, even crossing the english version, I can’t tell you if I could’ve had connect the dots..

How long have you been a reader for?

Can you remember ALL of the books you’ve read? Even old old ones?

Say something 💕
