Do you need to fidget while reading?

Do you need to fidget while reading?

Good morning!

I’ve been known to always multitask everything; gaming while listening to youtube or the TV, listening to youtube while playing sims, bloghopping while playing sims..

So far that’s good, nothing wrong with those..

However, when i’m reading is when it pose problem. I have trichotillomania; which means that when I’m reading at night, my go-to fidget is my hair picking & scratching at my bald spot.. which ain’t good for various reasons 🥲

While I do have a fidget ball, I find it hard to train myself to use it because usually reading takes the need of your hands. So it becomes easier not to take it and use my tic instead.. the only other thing I could think of to help would be reading on my back, making sure both hands remains on my book 😂 or reading hardcovers.

Do you fidget while you read?
Is there things you found to be easier than others?

  1. If I can manage to hold the book (or sometimes e reader) with one hand I twirl my hair or rub something very often. Or something easy to twist in my hands like keys.

    1. Yep that’s what I do too… which isn’t good for my bald spot 😅 i need to find a way to stop that..
