Half year book tag ! ✦

Half year book tag ! ✦

Heey !

As you’ll read this, i’ll be on my way home from our little vacation trip! This post took me longer than i’d wanna admit to find, as I wanted to plan ALL the posts while i’d be gone and well.. I just couldn’t find a tag I liked for today 😅

As I did the June freak-out tag last year, I didn’t felt like doing it back quite yet.. and I found this tag on Zezee’s @ Zezee with books, click the link to go see her post!
The Half Year Book Tag was created by BexnBookx in 2016.

First, I’d like us to take a look at which book I read so far – I’ve managed to suceed my goal of 15 already, and I read 19 books ;

1. Favourite stand alone book hauled and read so far in 2019?

Well I haven’t hauled many books this year.. so that disqualify a bunch ahah – I’d go for «My Hearts and Other Black Holes», that I “hauled” from our library app.

2. Favourite series that you started or continued to read in 2019?

Oh my gosh, the Sovereign serie by Josie Jaffrey that I finished reading the final book this year… i’m so sad I won’t be seeing my Lucas anymore, although we did have gotten a pretty nice and happy ending. I’m always thinking back on that serie and feel like rereading it again, but as a whole without stopping!

3. Favourite bookish items purchased or received this year?

errr.. I actually haven’t purchased any bookish items..

4. Favourite debut author?

I don’t know who is a debut author at this point 🤷🏽‍♀️ as i’m mostly late on my reading.. aha

5. Favourite under-hyped book that you read this year?

I wanna say «Supermarket» … I haven’t seen anyone talk about it in the bookish community, as it has been Alex to show it to me (as it’s written by it’s favorite rapper). The twists absolutely blew my mind – and i’m fairly frequently still thinking about it.

6. Favourite book read this year that you were late to the party on?

I’m pretty much late on EVERYTHING XD «My heart and other black holes», «Letters to the losts», «Reasons to Stay Alive» ..

7. Potential favourite that you haven’t got around to reading yet?

On my shelves, i’d say probably «The Nerdy & the Dirty» or «A Totally Awkward Love Story». I won’t even try to browse my 288books in my virtual wanna read shelf, let’s just go with the ones I own ahah 😂

8. Favourite re-read in 2019?

«Heavenward»! The difference between now and last year was flagrant, as I had more “reading in english” experiences, so I got to understands some thing SO much better.

9. Favourite cover on a book released this year?

I definately loved the cover of Witchcraft & Monsters ! Not sure what it is in particular about it, but i’m a fan for the witchy aesthetic !

I’m tagging everyone who wanna do it ! 😄 Wether you had done the mid-year freakout aswell or just wanting something a little different like me.

  1. Supermarket has mostly negative reviews on Goodreads. I wonder why other readers didn’t find the twists mind-blowing. Now I’m a LITTLE BIT curious about it but I’m not sure if I’m curious enough to pick it up or not.

    1. Well see, from what i’ve seen it’s just people who strictly liked his music; and probably think that he shouldn’t had expended to writer aswell.. 🤷🏽‍♀️ I haven’t seen one person not writing a review and having read it without knowing his tunes.

  2. Yea, I thought Supermarket would have received more hype. I haven’t read it, but couple people I know have expressed interest in it.
I’m glad you did the tag. It was a good one Bex created.

    1. I honestly wouldn’t had known if my boyfriend weren’t super onto knowing all of his stuff.. and I literally haven’t seen ANYONE else talk about it yet.

yes, I agree!! It’s nice to have something a little different than our usual half year freakout we see everywhere.

  3. I had fun reading your answers, also, awesome job on not going crazy on buying books and bookish merch this year so far. I myself have failed horribly with that aspect lol.

    1. Hahaha, it’s mostly because I didn’t had time nor the energy to go anywhere beside work 😂 and for some reason i’m not big onto order stuff online… 🤷🏽‍♀️

  4. I’m also always late to reading books, haha, but I’ve learnt to not let it bother me. I’ve been let down by new releases getting over hyped too many times and I prefer to now just focus on books that have a backlog of good reviews.

    1. That’s the best way to go, just let the hype pass and get to it after. I’m not bothered by it either! Honestly I have no idea of what books are releasing 😂 I don’t keep track of that so, heh 🤷🏽‍♀️
