I have a thing for “Damaged boys” – aka your “brand” of characters
I love damaged boys characters.
The ones with a troubled past. the “unstable” ones. they’re almost always struggling with their mental health. Always end up in trouble, somehow, wether they’ve wanted it or not. The ones that are mostly left to themselves, having very few people there for them.
Although we know that’s not quite the best for your psyche.. There’s that part of me that wanna be there for them. That side of me that wanna “fix” or help other people more than anything else is attracted to thoses characters.
The realization sort of dawned on me after reading “We all fall down”, and effectively liked the character of Theo — just like what had attracted me so much in Finch from “All the bright places”, in fact he sort of reminded me of him in a way.
Just like how i’m attracted to certain kind of romances (specifically the ones with the guy as the “shining knight in armor” protecting his love at all cost), this is one kind of characters i’m a sucker for — I may just need to figure out the others on my list x)
