Last Gaming obsession ~ Palia
Hey!
I’m quite late to the party, but after reading my friend’s wrap up, I caved in and used her refferal link as it’s a free game and I was at loss of what I wanted to play.
Ofcourse I ended up totally addicted and spent most of my two days off playing constantly!
You can use my referral code if you’d like to join too. I’m Kris Doxie in the game.
Palia is a open world MMO mixing World of Warcraft & My time at portia in my mind. It’s a free-to-play fantasy simulation where you can play in coop (or not- I haven’t used that feature much). You have your own plot of land to renovate & decor aswell as farming and lifestock. You can fish, mine, bug catch, craft, hunt and run errands for other players/NPCs.
While there is an option of premium, you can absolutely play fine without it: it mostly just gives you extra rewards and items from what I gather. Which I really like, as that’s something that made me not cave to get WoW, as it did looks like fun- but that monthly payment was a no for me.
At first glance, I wasn’t thinking much of it other than the graphics were beautiful. But this game is SO ADDICTING! Love me plenty of quests and things you can do, can’t get bored! (I’m now 41,9hrs in π)
My only downside so far, is how I don’t play much coop (no community as of now or anything) so i’m kinda bummed out that feature keep drinking my battery as it’s constantly online. I would love an option to turn that off. Because i’m more of a solo player and don’t do coop much, that was mainly the only quest I had slight trouble with; “helping with a player requests”. Especially as a newbie, all the other player’s requests seemed to be things hard to get. I also chosed to play on steamdeck- so while I do see player’s chats like where some silver ores or flow woods are, I can’t answer as it doesn’t seem to work π
I’m an absolute fan of the stamina in this game. The day/night hour doesn’t bother our human at all; no hunger or sleep needed, the only thing is that NPCs will be asleep. That’s always a bummer in other farming sims, you don’t get enough stamina for all the things you gotta do!! It’s possible to increase it by praying with the points gotten from quests, but even as I just started I never got any trouble. I don’t think I went under like a third of my stamina, and you can easily just eat forageable or food to recover it quickly.

Have you played Palia already?
Palia is still on my to-play and I think one of the main reasons why I’ve not picked it up yet is because I don’t play co-op and I also am not sure how well it’ll run on my Switch. Earlier reviews mentioned frustrating frame drop rates and I fear that it will lag massively… I’m still curious and would still like to give it a try at some point. I’m honestly still amazed that it’s a free game, lol π€
Truth me told they said the same for my time at portia on switch and I never experienced anything too bad so π
I’m glad you’re enjoying it! Your house is cute <3 I've come to really like the social part of it, working with other people sometimes, though it scared me at first lol.
I literally JUST figured out how to talk with them ahah
Love your Palia obsession! Unlimited stamina, cozy farming, and no sleep/hunger mechanics make it perfect for endless chill sessions. Total cozy game win!
Totally relatable Palia addiction. Unlimited stamina + endless cozy quests = perfection. Solo play works great, and Steam Deck looks gorgeous. Thanks for the referral nudge.
Eheh no problem! βΊοΈ
I’ve not played Palia yet, though it’s in my library since I added it to my account when it came out and everyone was playing it. I think the co-op will also be something I’m not interested in, though some of my friends are playing it so I might join them at some point! Part of it is it doesn’t seem very motion sickness friendly and people can be absolute trolls if I’m slower in my movements (although playing with my friends they’ll understand).
aaaaah i guess.. at the same time I was SO glad someone could unstuck me by giving my requested item i’ve been unable to find π
So you got hooked on Palia too? what drew you in, the gameplay or the community? π
A bit of both! I love how the community is so helping of each other!
