Let’s talk bookish ➙ Memes & Tags!

Helloo !!

I’ve had been wanting to do this particular prompt, as i’ve been kinda sad that all earlier prompts on all memes that I do are mainly “goals/new year” themed.. which is not my forte – specially not for 2021!

Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly meme hosted by Rukky @ Eternity Books and Dani @ Literary Lion. Where we discuss certain topics, share our opinions, and spread the love by visiting each other’s posts.

Which memes do I like to participate in?

➙ Sunday’s Chat (or Sunday’s Post) [X]

I like this one alot as it gives me a reason to overshare with my general life outside the blog without feeling too guilty about it — as we all know I adore to do that 😅 but sadly can’t really reason with doing a separate kind of post.. I choose to remove the “This week’s posts” / “Coming posts” part as i’m usually clueless about what i’m even gonna post for the next posting day.

➙ #5onMyTBR [X] & Top Ten Tuesday [X]

As a lot of people do, I love to snoop on other’s TBR — to potentially add more book to my ever-growing one. Likewise, I do enjoy sharing books that I have around a specific topic; unread or not, to give others to add them up.

Of course, this one aswell !! Conversation posts are probably my most liked things to write, and sometimes it can be so hard to come up with new ideas .. so I love to be able to join in and add my cent to thoses ones!

As a general rule; Ithink they are great fun in moderation. Ofcourse if your blog is solely made out of memes, just like if it’s made solely of reviews for exemple, that can be a little boring for people like me to read..

However; the memes, tags, and events like the BookEnding seasons is a great and simple way to keep going when ideas get a little more harder to come by to write your own, or when you’re in a reading slump thus can’t really post anything around that.. Or just when things are being draining your creativity like a pandemic or too much work can do. In thoses states, a blog break is a wonderful option aswell.. but I can’t get myself to (i’m sure so as others!) so I wanna try to push and get atleast some posts up and skip maybe one or two to not lose my blogging drive.

Ofcourse I read other’s too ! I love snooping in other’s life as much as I love oversharing; so Sunday’s post are one of my favorite to read. And so can be all the others that I participate in when the prompt is one that I find particularly interesting; or sometimes it can be a great inspiration for the ones that I’m not even sure how to answer.. and then I fall on one that gives me pointers that I needed to answer it in my own way.

There’s also a few that I love to read but don’t participate in them as of now; Cover VS, SixforSunday, Down the TBR Hole (did a few of thoses.. but meh), First line Friday, Book Blogger Hop, Stacking the shelves, and of course the Monthly wrap-up!

What do you think of them?
Which one do you like to write, if any? Which one do you enjoy reading?

  1. These days I only do Top Ten Tuesday or Top Five Tuesday. Back when I started my blog I loved to be a part of I Heart Characters Meme but I haven’t seen it around anymore. I did Six For Sunday few times too.

    1. Yess I participated in I heart characters too! It indeed stopped.. same as Off Tangent Thoughts aswell that I did a few times.

I’ve been wanting to do six for sunday too but I haven’t been inspired by any topics yet

  2. When I first started blogging I participated in almost every meme but then I realised that I didn’t have much variety in what I was posting so I dialled it down seriously. Now the only meme I take part in is Top 10 Tuesday, which is a lot of fun, but I don’t take part every week because there are times where I don’t have anything to say about the prompt.

    1. Yep.. I only do maybe a few per months as some prompts are harder for me to get something for; some might have more while some has barely none aswell — as sometimes it’s just easier for me to come up to a prompt content than somethings else (and that’s okay!)

  3. I love your thoughts on this Kristina. It can definitely get boring if memes/tags are the only things you do, but they can add a nice variety and give a chance to talk about things that you normally wouldn’t talk about separately. Kind of like the Sunday Post for you. I actually haven’t heard of that one, so I’m curious to learn more about it.

    1. Thank you !
Ohh that’s wonderful that I got to make you learn something! My most loved sundays post are from “Beware of the reader” 😅 definately more following the actual idea of the meme than mines with some things removed ahah
