Make a small gesture for this holiday season ❤️
The holidays are supposed to be a time of joy- but unfortunately that’s not the case for everyone.. for a variety of reasons.
Ofcourse small kind gestures should be given year rounds, but if you can, I feel like that’s particularly appreciated near the holidays. You never know how much a small thing can lighten up someone’s day!
❤️ Tip your service workers well; ofcourse this is a given- and yes maybe we’re going too overboard asking for tips for what seems to be everything nowadays.. but with the cost of living, it does make a difference. If you have the means, giving your favorite barista a little something for the holidays is always a nice gesture.
❤️ Ask a stranger if they need help; Maybe you’re doing a last minute gift buying.. and you notice someone struggling to put their purchases in their car or something? Ask if they need your help!
❤️ Invite/give a portion of food to someone; might it be to one of your friend you know is alone this period of the year, or a neighbor that seems to not receive any visit.. i’m sure it would make them happy to eat with you or be offered a plate to take home.
❤️ Give to your local SPCA or food bank; Again, this is some trying times for a lot of families so if you have the means to give them, please do 🥰 It can be material or money- I personally give an etransfer to my local dachshund rescue every year around this time, and we gave them a bag of lightly used items we no longer needed aswell, so they can sell them in auctions/yard sale to get more funds.
❤️ Pay it forward; While in-line to pay for your coffee or take-out? Why not offer to pay for the next person behind you aswell? While it never happened to me personally, I love to see it going at work 🥰
❤️ Give some of your time; Are they looking for voluntary workers? Might it be to go visit lonely elders, write christmas cards to kids or elders, walking rescues dogs..
❤️ Go give blood or plasma; Donating some of your blood (or plasma) if your eligeable is an easy way to give that don’t cost much. It help cancer patient, woman in deliveries, people in hemodialysis, in car accidents.. lots of different people can benefit in this selfless act! We’re almost sure that one day or another we will most likely need a blood transfusion in our lifetime; sometimes this might be the small difference that help you making through it or not!
What is your favorite little gesture to do?
