My favorite dog breed in books; Dachshunds 🐶

As you surely must know, as per my blog name, my favorite breed is dachshunds. Gotta love thoses long little body with tiny leggies and stubborn as all hell, am I right? 😂

So today, I wanted to share with you some books that have dachshunds in them !!! So all of us who’s doxies crazy can go read them ahah.

As I wanna find some more too, I’m gonna separate this post in two; thoses I already know of, and the ones I’ve discovered.

Note; the dachshund shall be a major part of the story, not just a secondary character you see for 3pages and never again

My known ones;

1. The Corner Shop in Cockleberry Bay, Nicola May [goodread//my review]
received by the author for an honest review; rosa’s sausage dog is named hot !! how adorable !! Be warned that little Hot have a sad backstory, and have a little accident in the way ; but I was very pleased with how constant our little buddy was throughout the book, with the real attitude of one too !

2. Lily and the octopus, Steven rowley [goodread]
This one got talked about a lot within my fb group of local dachshund parents; a quite sad story dealing with the grief of your “long” best friend.

3. The girl with the dachshund tattoo, Sparkle Abbey [goodread]
So this one is actually a thriller.. Surrounded by dachshunds racing !! One of the hated dachshunds’ owner is found dead before the racing starts, and so Melinda and her assistant Betty must find who the killer is..

4. Walking with sausage dogs, Matt Whyman [goodread]
Not sure how present our little buddy is here, but the story involve welcoming a doxie upon having *way* too many more animals and kids already..

5. Where the light gets in, Lucy Dillon [goodread]
Just like in “The Corner Shop in Cockleberry bay”; the story isn’t about the weein itself, but it’s the little companion of one of our main characters.

6. Puppy love, Frauke Scheunemann [goodread]
This one is really interresting to me as it is written AS the doxie !! Little Hercules see how his new favorite human is sad and want to try to find her the perfect man himself !! How cute, hehe!

7. Must love wieners, Casey Griffin [goodreads]
What I like about this one, is that it’s a romance novel where BOTH parties own a weein !! LOT of dachshunds in that book, or atleast I hope so, ahah

New discoveries;

1. Duplicity dogged the dachshund, Blaize Clement [goodreads]
So many thrillers !! An eldery dachshund dig up something odd that leads her pet-sitter into a quest to find a murderer… I love how they used the dog in this one- as a “tool” more than just the investigator’s assistant, you know..

2. Heroic Measures, Jill Ciment [goodreads]
A bad timing of all happening at once, A couple must go on a quest to bring their paralyzed dachshund to the vet — this one interrests me as far as I know it’s gonna be an “anxiety inducing” read.. you know how far you would go for your dog, but you’d also really really want it to end good; thus stressing in the middle of the action.

Do you know more books surrounding weiners that I might like ?
Add it to my goodread’s list

What’s your favorite breed, and can you think of a book where one is present?
