My favorite Farming Simulation games
Farming simulation games are relatively a newer love of mine, as it’s not one of thoses games that I had been playing growing up; contrarely to Zelda/Pokemon games aswell as Sims.
I love the aspects of having the life simulation in them, such as befriending/marrying bachelors, aswell as the multitude of things you can do in them. Of course there’s the “farming” part of the game, but you can also take care of animals, cooking and fishing.. some of them even have a mining and/or fighting aspect to them, making them the perfect game to play for hours without necessarely be doing the same thing. Although the start of the games tend to feel long.. before you get all the upgrades/animals/funds started.
Harvest Moon / Story of Seasons
I believe my very first farming simulation had been “Story of Seasons; Trio of Towns”.. which I LOVED and then decided to go upward within the franchise and play the earlier games. The original Story of Season is probably my least favorite, due to the boredom of the longer start before you get all the things, while my favorite has been “Harvest Moon; Tale of Two towns” (remake on the 3ds).
This week, I’ve been playing the “Story of Seasons; Friends of Mineral Town” remake (published as Harvest Moon on gameboy). and quite loving it so far!
Stardew Valley
That game had been a LONG TIME on my wishlist.. I finally bought it on Steam for my mac, and later got it on my Switch too after buying a switch lite.
Although I haven’t tried it yet, I appreciate how there’s a multiplayer option onto this one.. and of course all the little story-points and sidequests that you can choose to do or ignore, as i’m a sucker for sidequests 🤣
Although I currently only own thoses two, I also have a few other ones on my wishlist;
- My time at Portia
- Kynseed
- Fantasy Farming; Orange Season
- World’s Dawn

I have played Stardew Valley and I can say it’s amazing! I love the story and side quests and marrying all the characters! I haven’t tried multiplayer yet but I hope to one day…
I also want to buy My Time At Portia – it looked really nice!
Now i’m feeling like playing stardew again.. ahaha 😅 I love how they update it for new contents too – ithink we shall get banana trees next.
Hopefully we’d like it if we do end up buying MtaP xx
I just purchased Story of Seasons; Friends of Mineral Town yesterday and it’s my first farm sim. Pretty excited to play. I’ve had friends trying to win me over to the genre for a while now. If I end up liking it, I’m pretty sure Stardew is next for me. It’s pretty cheap on the switch 😍

So far im liking friends of mineral town, as im now almost into fall and have stuff remotely in place xD (i have the kitchen, farm animals and all so more funds!)
I’m just the kind of people that’s bummed over slow beginning xd so stardew is « better » on that fond as you get kind of side quests and all.. (or maybe that’s just how I remember it.. ahaha!)
I LOVE stardew!! If you end up playing any of the other games, I’d love to read an update post. I’m building a PC right now and can’t wait to game again.
Sure thing! It’s been a while that i’ve done a gaming review kinda thing.. but then again I’m playing mostly the same games over and over rn soo 😂🤷🏽♀️
i really want to love stardew valley but i find it really stressful that i just cant get everything done in one day than i want too 🙁
Ahh yeah, the more you get stamina/lvl up the tools it gets easier.. but I also like how you can just- ditch stuff and choose what you wanna concentrate on xd
