My last five « mood reads » & their associated books

My last five « mood reads » & their associated books

Heeya!

Although that’s usually how I roll, I’ve been mood reading like crazy theses past months.. but quite more for a language rather than a “type/genre” of books, which was kind of a wierd discovery for me 😂

I was just in that type of months where I crave that ONE very or oddly specific type of books, and needed that perfect fit or else it was just not working at all.

5 (currently reading) – French / Thriller

As I was WAY behind on my French books count, I was very set on having another french one this time.. while also feeling thriller-y, for some reason i’m feeling for some Ruth Ware lately (thinking back to The death of Mrs Westaway precisely)

As I looked onto my un-read shelf, I decided to pick up another of my Guillaume Musso’s that’s been sitting there: « La fille de Brooklyn » (one of his that I had started but kinda felt merh about was « L’instant présent ».. that had been shoved back on the shelf)

4 – Audiobook **needed that perfect voice actors

I spent an insane amount of time to try to get me that PERFECT book.. being my first audiobook, I wanted a story that I was caught onto (preferably onto my virtual wanna read list already) and where the voice would sounds just “perfect!” Where i’d actually wanna listen to them. I can be very picky on voices, and bothered by them quite easily, i’d say.

I ended up picking « Geekerella » and oh. My lord!!! Why didn’t I picked that book sooner ?! Our two voice actors were also that notch of perfect that I falled in love not only with their charactes, but also with THAT voice for them too!

3 – “easier read” / MG

I was overworking myself at that time – so I had been wanting to keep reading the nights after my shifts… while it not being too much for my brain to handle. Thus where the middle grade coming in handy -anyway I think it’s MG?!- (something that I dont typically read for some reason)

One that I had seen around the blogosphere and was available onto my libby app was « The thing about Jellyfish », and the little sample I’ve read had quite interested me.

2 – feels (??) / english

I honestly can’t remember what I was looking for that one 😂 it was just one of thoses that I wanted something PRECISE but didn’t even knew what it was.. but I wanted it to be in english, as nothing out of my french books was “it”.

I ended up settling for « No one Here is Lonely »… okay, maybe the pretty 8-bit cover attracted me on it’s own here.. but the synopsis just fitted what I was looking for so..

1 – cheesy romance / lovey dovey / english

At that point I was just craving that YA love.. and again, nothing in my un-read french books were IT … So I went to check on my libby app instead.

The one that caught my eye had been « Lock & Key » ; which was my first Sarah Dessen book and ohhh did it fit perfectly, I loved it !!

Is there one specific kind of book that you feel like “mood read” the most?

What has been your last mood reads/books combo?
